AN OPEN LETTER TO THE STUDENTS' UNION GOVERNMENT UNIVERSITY OF BENIN

Solidarity greetings to the School management, Staff Students Union Government Executives, Students and entire University Community. I pray the remaining days of the year will be as fruithful as the tree planted by the riverside that brings forth fruit in its season and the leaf wither not.

With the current Update by the Students' Union Government Public Relations Officer Comrade EHIABI GOODNEWS as regards the gross misconduct, misappropriation of funds and attempt at defrauding the School Management by the Students' Union Government President Comrade OGBIDI OSEMUDIAMEN ELVIS, it means the slogan of MAKE UNIBEN GREAT AGAIN is a mere word just to blind fold UNIBEN INTELLECTUALS. When this whole saga started from the TAKE OFF GRANT, the PRO in His capacity came out to debunk the whole issue but now they finally came out to crucify him bringing to the awareness of the general public. I will say this is the right step in the right direction and if he is found guilty, he should be asked to step down or better still removed.

GREAT UNIBEN STUDENTS, I want to use this media to cry out again, the last time AN OPEN LETTER of this kind was Written, the PRO came out to tell us again that they are working on it. How long will it take to work on the welfare of the Students. The school management said WORK and STUDY is meant to assist students who are in need while in school. But right now, the reverse is the case. They said MAKING UNIBEN GREAT AGAIN is their agenda, how will that be attainable when students who you oversee are hungry and in pains. These are students who work out of pain, hunger, discomfort and total inconvenience. The school management keep saying no money but there is money to give the SUG up to the sun of #3,400,000. Lets go mathematical, WORK STUDY STUDENTS are being paid #8000 a month. If we divide #3,400,000 by #8,000, we will get 425 students being paid their stipends. Pls lets be rational here, is this not SELFISHNESS and WICKEDNESS . Pls with due respect to the SUG, we will appreciate it if the slogan is changed from MAKE UNIBEN GREAT AGAIN because your actions does not portray it.

WORK STUDY STUDENTS are tired, crying, hungry and angry. We keep hearing huge sums of money being given out by the school management and our stipends have not been paid SINCE LAST YEAR JUNE. At this point, once the school fully resumes, we have no choice than to go on a peaceful protest to press home our demand. The school feels we cannot voice out our displeasure thats why they keep withholding our money. By next session, new set of students will be employed meanwhile old ones have not been paid. IS THIS NOT GROSS WICKEDNESS? PRO Sir, we don't want to hear we are working on it again but receiving our Bank Alerts. If you guys cannot fight for us, then we will do it ourselves. Thank You!
