The tertiary education sector is sitting on a time bomb. The Federal Government is yet to honour its agreement with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).I don’t think the Federal Government wants ASUU to go on another strike but if this situation extends beyond the October 31 deadline, then ASUU will very likely go on strike again.President of the association, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi had, in announcing the “conditional suspension” of the previous strike, said the action was taken after the union gave the Federal Government a deadline of the end of October to fulfil its promises. No one knows how many Nigerian students were involved in accidents and how many died on our bad roads when traveling to and from school at the commencement and cancellation of the last ASUU’s strike. We can’t afford to risk the lives of these students again.I beseech the Federal Government to do the needful and avert this impending calamity.

young man, why are you calling them useless people? you should be attacking FG and not ASUU. FG is not responding to their noble demands and you are here calling them useless. attack government and not ASUU. 2009 and 2013 agreement is not today. again, why will that known 419 called ngige and his labour minister deceived ASUU and jac? why not reason with ASUU and jac for once. let FG pay them for Christ sake. call nass members stupid and not ASUU and jac mbok

they useless because during the past administration GEJ tried begging this same people with even meeting some part of their demand yet they insisted n made the strike indefinite. but for buhari even without collecting a penny they came out ranting let's give them time why not play fair in anything

Also, what the essence of calling off a strike when it quite clear you guys would go on strike in this clueless administration undecided

It's very easy to call ASUU names if your Mom or Dad isn't a retired lecturer. it's easy to call ASUU names if you are okay with the ego of being in a university that's less equipped.
.
I used to bash ASUU until a lecturer told us several things. the beautiful chairs in UNIBEN Engineering faculty was possible after last ASUU strike. it used to be a bench. The lap was worst before the last strike.
.
retired lecturers are broke. They paid taxes while teaching but now no pension. a lecturer told us their tax is removed even before the money lands in their account.
.
stop bashing what you don't understand.
