Remember the Facebook User Ifeanyi OnyeAbiriba Okebe that wrote an Open letter to Ray Katins? He took to his Facebook handle to write another to 2016 Batch B stream One Corps members that observed their POP from NYSC today.

Read what he wrote;

After NYSC, what next?

First and foremost, warm congratulations to all 2016 Batch B stream One Corps members that successfully completed their NYSC program today. This is an important phase in the life of every Nigerian graduate and it’s a thing of joy to have participated successfully.

After NYSC, what next?

This is the question on the lips of most graduands today. While some may have carved a niche for themselves and need not bother what life holds in stock for them after today, others are confused. They don’t know what the future looks like.

Now know this, life after service especially in this current economic arrangement is no bed of roses. Many graduates scrambling for few available jobs leaves an eyesore.

This is not the time to depend on white collar jobs or the federal government to create more employment opportunities. My candid advice is; ‘while waiting for your dream job, you can learn a skill if you have none. Pocket your ego for now and work hard if you wish to pay your bills.

Your uncles, friends, Boss and others may have promised you a job immediately after service but remember humans can renege on their promises. Work your success out. Don’t be ashamed to pick up any job no matter how low because if you don’t pay your bills nobody will do that for you. Not all of us were born with silver spoons so knowing your root and the responsibilities lying in wait is paramount.

You can start from the scratch. Rome was not built in a day. Most great business empires we see today had a humble beginning. There’s no shame in starting little. With focus and determination you’ll surely reach your zenith in life.

Lastly, spend your final allawee wisely. Avoid frivolities and stay true to your dreams. Welcome to your world of possibilities. Always remember you can achieve anything you set your mind and sights on.

God bless you all!
