By the time it takes you to read this, you should have spent the title’s worth of your time; time you will never own again, time gone with your youth, time struck into the past by the hands of the clock, time rushed in a framed flow of seconds – no firsts, no thirds – no moment to spend on waiting. And moments following moments blaze into seasons, and eras, and epochs, and times.
Times hold events, and while events may coincide, seconds wait their turn and quietly slip into the continuum; indistinct, yet unique, and never to be recalled except by the events that they are contained with – by you, whether you mean to or not.
Time is inevitable. Time is grey hairs and wrinkles. Time is a pregnancy; time is pregnant. Time is knowledge. Time is a memory of things forgotten. Time is pain. Time is life’s currency. Time is money.
Time is complex; it is not just when and how long, but also why, how, what, with whom, where, how much, how many, and so on. Time is a mystery.
Time is patient but never stops. Time strolls in a steady stride of seconds, an infinite onion bulb one layer of which peels onto an inner layer, eternally.
Life is an eternity of seconds, but each second is a gift given to you with which you are to plan the next second you’ll ever get. Make each second count in your pursuit of the eternity you believe is out there, the eternity you desire, the eternity you are destined to – for destiny is what you make it.
