Diabetes a monster created by man.

According to the WHO world Diabetes statistics 2017;
642 million people will be diabetic in the year 2040.
422 million adults are diabetic already, that is 1 out of every 11 person.
3.7 million death are due to diabetes and high blood glucose, this is as a result of man's poor eating culture and lifestyle.
Diabetes mellitus, commonly known as "Diabetes" is a lifelong condition in which the body’s ability to produce or respond to the hormone insulin is impaired, resulting in abnormal metabolism of carbohydrates and elevated levels of glucose in the blood.

*THE SYMPTOMS OF DIABETES*
Excessive Urination, Excessive Thirst And Hunger, Sudden Weight Loss, Blurred Vision, Delay In Healing Of Wounds, Dry And Itchy Skin, Repeated Infections, Fatigue And Headache.
These diabetes symptoms may be due to other reasons also.

*TYPES OF DIABETES*
There are three basic types of diabetes.
• Type 1 DM
• Type 2 DM
• Gestational Diabetes

TYPE 1 DM
In Type 1, pancreas fail to produce enough insulin. This causes glucose to quickly rise in the blood increasing blood sugar levels.

TYPE 2 DM
In Type 2 diabetes, the insulin that the body makes doesn’t work properly, because of which glucose builds up in the blood. This type of diabetes is caused by a complex of both genetic and environmental factors. About 90% of the people have Type 2 diabetes. This type of diabetes is curable.
Research has showed that up to 58% of Type 2 diabetes cases can be delayed or prevented through a healthy lifestyle.

GESTATIONAL DIABETES
Gestational diabetes happens when the blood sugar level rises during pregnancy. But it usually disappears after giving birth. There is no specific time for gestational diabetes to start. It can occur at any stage of pregnancy, but it is more common in the second trimester of pregnancy. The reason is the insufficient production of insulin by your body. Gestational diabetes should not be left untreated as it can cause problems for you and your baby during and after birth. But the risk of these problems happening can be reduced if they are detected on time and properly treated.

*CAUSES OF DIABETES*
Diabetes causes can vary depending on the individual and the type. For example, the causes of type 1 diabetes vary considerably from the causes of gestational diabetes. But some of the common factors include:
Age, Genetics, Weight, Physical inactivity, Insulin resistance, Family history, Ethnicity, Stress, Poor diet
