NLNG Ship Management Limited (NSML) a subsidiary of Nigeria LNG Limited seeks to engage personnel for immediate employment in the below position:

FINANCE OFFICER- PAYROLL

REF: NSML/2017/001

Location: NSML Head Office- Port Harcourt

The Job:

The appointee will be required to:

• Ensure accurate and timely processing and payment of monthly payroll, invoices, expense claims and remittances according to contractual obligations, statutory requirements and agreed payment terms

The duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Process NSML monthly payroll and expense claims for all NSML staff including payroll reconciliations and attending to post-payroll queries.

• Ensure registration, processing and prompt payment of all NSML invoices according to contractual payment terms in liaison with NLNG’s FNC and FNT departments, including attending to all vendor queries and requests.

• Maintain an up-to-date ‘Employee Records & Statistics’ for NSML Staff and carry out analysis of employee and payroll data as required.

• Ensure the completeness and accuracy of all financial transactions in the General Ledger and manage the interface between Shipmate and SAP. Ensure that all reconciliations are done in a timely manner.

• Liaise with FNS department on all matters relating to NSML tax obligations. Ensure timely filing of all statutory remittances and tax returns including but not limited to CIT, TET, TP, PAYE, WHT, VAT, Pension, ECA, ITF and MWUN in line with stated / statutory timelines and follow up on all Tax Clearance certificates.

• Produce all audit schedules as may be required by auditors and investigate and promptly respond to all audit queries to ensure smooth audit process. Follow up to resolve all internal and/or external audit issues and other enquiries (pre and post audit).

• Manage the NSML monthly and quarterly finance closure activities:
i. Ensure accurate and timely recording of all NSML monthly financial transactions.
ii. Ensure that services received but unpaid for in any month are accrued for in accordance with relevant accounting concepts and conventions.
iii. Carry out periodic inter-company accounts reconciliation with NLNG and BGT, and ensure the accuracy of all balance sheet balances

• Ensure proper and orderly filing, storage and retrieval of accounting records. Act as record focal point for NSML finance and accounting records

• Monitor NSML bank account statement, ensuring timely booking of receipts and payments including follow-up on the investigation, booking and reprocessing of returned payments

The Person:

The right candidate should:

• A good University degree in Accounting/Finance with a minimum of 2nd Class Lower (2.2) plus a recognized professional Accounting qualification.

• Possess a minimum of 3-5 years post-graduation experience in a similar or related role of a reputable organization.

• Good commercial skills, customer focus and mindset.

• Good communication, negotiating and interpersonal skills.

• Self-starter, with a good track record of delivery.

• Fluency in English as a business and contract language.

• Finance exposure in a Shipping company will be an added advantage.

• Not be more than 35 years as at 31st December 2017.



SYSTEM ANALYST & CORPORATE SERVICES OFFICER

REF: NSML/2017/002

Location: NSML Head Office- Port Harcourt

The Job:

The appointee will be required to:

• Conduct research and provide market intelligence information on the global and domestic maritime industry; and evaluate possible impact on NSML’s operations

• Participate in the development and implementation of commercial, operational and marketing strategies for Management decision making

• Carry out corporate services activities for NSML.


The duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Provide good quality researched and synthesized internal/external information to support the strategic planning function in the company and to use the various economic models to carry out simulations and scenario analysis for Management decision

• Provide strategic support to the Head Business Development and Corporate Services with respect to developing strategic plans and reports.

• Assist the Head Business Development and Corporate Services to organize strategic and brainstorming sessions for all new business development activities for NSML.

• Assist in the preparation of the Company’s 5-year Business Plan and corporate scorecard and monitor, evaluate Company’s performance and prepare all necessary trend and variance reports.

• Produce graphs, charts and presentation materials for strategic and management reports and to support business development opportunities for NSML within the NLNG group, project partners and with third parties

• Engage in marketing and business development activities for all NSML segments and work with the Manager Training and MCOE to market and promote all training activities at the MCOE

• Carryout corporate services activities for NSML interfacing with any 3rd party to deliver said activity.

The right candidate should:

• Possess a good University degree in Social Sciences, Science or Engineering with a minimum of 2nd Class Lower (2.2)


• Possess a minimum of 3-5 years post-graduation experience in similar or related role.

• Good communication, negotiating and interpersonal skills.

• Proactive self-starter, with a good track record of delivery.

• Fluency in English as a business and contract language.

SENIOR FLEET IT ADMINISTRATOR

REF: NSML/2017/003

Location: NSML Head Office- Port Harcourt

The Job:

The appointee will be required to:

• Manage, install and support the IT and Communication infrastructure for NLNG Ship Management Limited (NSML) managed vessels and shore based personnel ensuring reliable, secure and up-to-date data synchronization between the vessel and the office IT facilities and maintaining a seamless interface with third party facilities required for the provisioning of IT and Communication services to NSML whilst providing contingency and redundancy for all IT and Communication facilities to avoid down-time


The duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Provide, via Ship visits, E-mail and telephone, advice to NSML managed vessels on all matters concerning onboard computer systems, hardware and software, analyze specific problems/ failures and suggest corrective actions with minimum delay and ensure repairs are rectified at minimum cost and minimum disruption to the vessel/ trading pattern concerned

• Plan and control Fleet I.T staff annual activities maintaining flexibility and appropriate delegation to allow for unscheduled ship visits in the event of system failures and ensure efficient operations.

• Administer the testing, configuration, purchase, supply and installation of replacement onboard computer hardware, software and programs; conduct software and computer equipment audit and recommend / manage fleet-wide replacement scheme as approved to ensure successful integration into the existing onboard software prior to fleet-wide procurement, ‘redundancy’ of onboard systems, constant compatibility with NLNG standard office-based software and safe and efficient vessel operations

• Administer the software (currently ‘Globe Rydex’) program link between vessels data files and the office-based data processing programs

• Maintain data integrity and application availability for NSML office based personnel and also manage the Marine Store and daily data tape back-up system and anti-virus software systems on all vessels to promote the Health, Safety and Environment and Quality Management policies of NSML and ensure uninterrupted vessel IT operations.

• Manage all office based NSML IT infrastructure including server, the VTIMS / MCOE systems and telecom facilities and ensure consistency of the IT data, application and communication interface with third party infrastructures

• Manage the Fleet I.T department and schedule ship visits and planned maintenance scheme for fleet vessels. To liaise closely with the NSML Superintendents to maintain efficient data transfer between onboard computer systems and satellite communication links and ensure conformance of IT facilities with the Vessel Management System


The Person:

The right candidate should:

• B.sc /HND Computer Science or Electrical/Electronic Engineering with a minimum of 2nd Class Lower (2.2) or Lower Credit OR Class 2 Engine Certificate of Competency.
• A recognized professional Information Technology qualification will be an added advantage.

• Possess a minimum of 3-5 years post-graduation experience in similar or related role

• Good communication, negotiating and interpersonal skills.

• Self-starter, with a good track record of delivery.

• Not be more than 35 years as at 31st December 2017
