I haven’t been a regular fan of Infinix, Tecno or any of these smartphone brands topping the smartphone industry in Nigeria, I had to think twice after seeing the commercial for the new Infinix zero 5.

The phone bears a clear picture of how Infinix as a smartphone industry is trying to build something Revolutionary, something different from the past that their customers haven’t seen before.

They now understand that gone are the days when they feed the masses the same type of smartphones with only a few things slightly different in all of them and still expect them to embrace devices over and over again.

The zero 5 is a device that is in every way different from its predecessors. From the design, morphology, the specifications and technology inside, you will fall in love with the smartphone.

While we wait for the smartphone to be released fully, so as to carry out an in-depth review. Here are the reasons why you should consider buying the new Infinix zero 5 or 5 plus.

Let’s dive right in.

The Infinix Zero 5 and Zero 5 Plus launched with 6GB RAM and dual rear camera. At least, that’s the first most exceptional aspect of the phone that sets the eyes popping at first glance.

If you love taking shots on your phone, or you just love the idea of owning a camera-worthy smartphone – which I know you are a super addict to smartphone cameras, then one of these two devices should be the next on your mind.

Launched on November 14, 2017, and pre-ordered started today 21st November 2017.

The Infinix Zero 5 has another variant, which is the zero 5 plus. The two phones are essentially the same in design and features but only one thing sets them aside, and that’s the memory storage. The Zero 5 packs 64GB inbuilt storage while the Zero 5 Pro comes with 128GB storage.

The Infinix Zero 5 is built with a 5.98-inch full-HD 2.5D curved glass display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Curved glass display? Yeah, Infinix is finally embracing the future and trying to keep up with a the latest trend in smartphone technology.

It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P25 processor clocked at 2.6GHz coupled with 6GB of RAM. Which means the device will be super fast and a different speed to anything you have seen on any other infinix smartphone. It will be very good for gaming and run can any heavy app you’ve downloaded from the play store.

Even with their large inbuilt memory both devices still have support for expandable storage via microSD card (up to 128GB). This is something you won’t see on most big brand Samsung on iPhones, where they will seal off the port for a microSD because they gave you a lot of memory space.

They don’t know you can decide to store your entire life on your smartphone and 128GB might not be enough.

It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with the brand’s custom skin XOS 3.0 on top. Everybody wants the latest version of Android. Nougat should be okay for you, I believe you don’t know about Oreo yet.

Speaking about the cameras, yes, the camera. Like I mentioned above, this is the main area where this phone excels the most. The Zero 5 has dual cameras at the back, another keeping up with the technological trends.

There’s a 12-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX386 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, and dual LED Flash as well as a secondary 13-megapixel camera with telephoto lens, f/2.6 aperture, and 2x optical zoom. If you don’t understand what all those things stand for, just leave it, you don’t need to understand them. Just know that the camera quality is good.

At the front, the handset packs a 16-megapixel camera with LED flash. The handset comes with a fingerprint scanner at the back.

For connectivity, there’s 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth. GPS, USB-Type C, and 3.5mm audio jack. Since Infinix has started playing catch-up with trends, I feel safe to mention that their next smartphone might be missing out on the 3.5mm audio jack.

Finally, the part we’ve all been waiting for, that’s the battery. It’s the most important feature of any smartphone that’s supposed to be used in Nigeria. Here Infinix blessed the zero 5 with a 4350mAh non-removable battery with fast charging support. Guess you are happy now.

Currently, the smartphone will be going on sale for 90-100,000 Naira.

The pre-ordered started today so if you are interested, head on to this place and make an early pre-order.

The phone is good, it’s a good fit for Christmas.
