I don't want this post to be too long so I'll start immediately. Let me show you 4 easy steps to improve your self discipline.

1. Start on a Monday
We like starting things on Monday and even research has shown that resolutions made on this day are more easier to keep.

2. Write down your reasons for self-discipline
This can help you to focus on higher values instead of instant gratification of your desire. However, this reasons should be about you not about anyone else. E.g you want to quit masturbation? Your reason should be around "I'd like to quit masturbation because it causes me to become depressed and feel guilty and I don't like it" not "I'd like to quit masturbation because it is a sin against God" you can easily fail others but when you know that you really need something you will go for it with all your strength.
3. Visualize how you will benefit from your efforts
What will be the benefits of your self-discipline? Will it make you happier? Richer? More attractive? Make a mental picture of how you will look like, feel like and how people will treat you after your self-discipline. If your mental result is positive then your brain will activate stronger will-power to overcome every resistance standing between you and your goals.
4. Prepare a plan of what you will say or do if temptation arises
One reason why you fall into temptation is because you don't have what to say or do when it arises. Having a plan on what to say or do when temptation arises is like having a shield for defense. For example, let's say you are trying to quit porn. While surfing the internet you are taken by multiple redirects to a porn site (we've all experienced this before) if you are alone, you will most likely spend some time there but if you have plans of what to do when this sort of issue arises then you will leave immediately. One weapon you can use is your mind, visualize how temptation comes and think of what to do or say when it arises.
4. Hide temptations in hard to reach places
This is not very effective in quitting porn. But self-discipline is more than porn. If your phone is a serious distraction while trying to study, it will be wise to keep it at home and go study in class.

5. Weigh all your options before breaking your resolution
So after trying to stick to your resolutions the temptation suddenly becomes too much and now you want to break it? Visualize all the benefits you can gain for keeping your resolutions and weigh all the negative things that might happen if you don't stick to it. Will it be worth it to break your resolutions? At the moment of temptation your judgment can easily become clouded, it's pretty normal but if you can resist the first, second and third, it becomes clearer and easier so hold on to your resolutions and don't give up without a tough fight.

Self-discipline won't happen overnight. Some of us have fought and are still fighting. You'll fail. Nothing can change that fact, but will you rise up and try again? That makes all the difference between winners and losers.

I hope this post will help someone here today.
