As every year, 25 November marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. news agency takes you to three African countries where initiatives have emerged to help victims and reduce violence.

► In the Congo, a one-stop shop for the care of the victims


Violence against women is a growing phenomenon in Congo-Brazzaville, as explained in figures, Victor Banaminou, project coordinator of the NGO Action solidarity international, citing the cases of Brazzaville and Pointe-Noire. " We have a total of 111 cases for both cities in the period from March to October 2017. Of these 111 cases, there are 56 cases of victims of sexual violence; 12 victims of physical violence; 32 victims of psychological violence and 17 cases of economic violence, "he explains.

The NGOs Action the solidarity international and Azur development support women and girls victims of violence through a one-stop shop that is an integral part of a project funded by the European Union. " At the single-window level, we have comprehensive care that includes psychological, medical, legal and judicial care, as well as temporary accommodation for the most vulnerable cases," explained Victor Banaminou.

This one-stop shop, present in Brazzaville and Pointe-Noire, has been operational since last February. This Saturday, November 25, symbolic day, it will be officially presented to the public.
