It was a huge disappointment for so many buyers in Onitsha yesterday, particularly those who understand the meaning of Black Friday, that there was no form of discount in any shop in Main Market, to mark the beginning of the Christmas shopping season.

Black Friday is marked across the world with series of mouth-watering discounts for buyers.

But traders in Onitsha Main Market seem not to know the existence of such tradition or do not want to know.

Some of the traders spoken to said such practice is not mentioned in main market. Another one said they are actually hiking their prices for Christmas sales and nothing like discount for Black Friday.

Does this mean buyers in Nigeria can not enjoy special Black Market discount in Main Market?

I thought this was found out to be a rumour and not true.
