Firefox Will Soon Warn You If You Are Visiting A Previously Hacked Website

We all know very well that the well-known Mozilla Firefox is a faster browser, more efficient and, mainly, more adapted to what users are looking for. However, Mozilla Firefox wants to go further and alert users when they visit sites that have already been compromised or hacked.

Security on the Internet is a subject that increasingly worries users of browsers, who want to be protected and stay away from problems. If most already give security alerts to users, Firefox wants to go further and alert users when they visit sites that have already been compromised or hacked.

Mozilla did a unique job of being able to give back to Firefox the capabilities that many have recognized over the years. It is a faster browser, more efficient and, mainly, more adapted to what users are looking for. There are many new features that the Quantum version has brought, thus ensuring that in a short time it can regain its prominent place that it always had.

But Firefox wants more and for this, it prepares to have, in future versions, the ability to alert users whenever they visit sites that are identified as having been compromised. For this, will use information from the well-known site “Have I been pwned?“.

For now, these alerts are not yet integrated with Firefox, but the work has already been started, and you can test it using an extension that is available on GitHub.

The idea is to put this code directly in Firefox and have it as a native function. In addition to the alert, you can also subscribe to future alerts for notifications in the event of future problems.

It’s too early to tell when this new feature will be integrated into Firefox or even if it will go into production in this browser. Everything will depend on the developments that are made.

This is further evidence that Firefox wants to raise its offer as a browser, running away from what competition offers and giving news that others do not have.
