Contrary to the post which made the front page, the college was not shut down.

The college of health sciences was established in 2012 and has so far admitted 4 sets of medical students, although the college is currently facing accreditation issues and as such caused the pioneer set to be stagnant for 3 years in 200 level, with intervention from the government and collaboration with the school management the pioneer students were farmed out to other universities to prevent them from stagnating further while the school works towards meeting the 2018 November accreditation deadline.

The government also awarded the outgoing students with special scholarships to fund their school fees and general welfare and also offered them a bond wherein the students are paid 24500 naira monthly till they graduate and will inturn work in the state for the first 3 years of their medical career.
