Birmingham (1) Vs Arsenal (1), Sat 27th March from 4PM Local Time by v3: 9:06am On Mar 26, 2010
Birmingham VS Arsenal
Venue : St. Andrews Stadium
KOT : 4PM Local Time
Referee : Monsieur Howard Webb

9th placed Birmingham host Arsenal in a game which sees both sides going all the way to secure maximum points. Arsenal are fresh off a nail-biting 2-0 win over rivals West Ham Utd, picking up maximum points from their last 6 games and look to do more damage,as well as mounting serious pressure on Man United & Chelsea.

Arsenal will be without 1st choice CB pairing Thomas Vermaelen (Suspension), William Gallas (Recovering from injury), But Big Sol could start this one alongside Song or Silvestre  lipsrsealed. The midfield looks very much the same with Cesc, Denilson/Song/Diaby.Strikers Nicklas Bendtner or Eduardo could lead the Arsenal attack, with Arshavin/Rozzy/TW/Nasri on the flanks.

Alex McLeish's side are enjoying top-flight football, sit comfortably in the middle of the table and have picked 7 points from their last 6 games & will be looking to grab at least a precious point against Arsenal.

Let's have your predicitons.

1-4 to the Arsenal

@ edoyad, pls don't remind me about that wicked TV5 red card & D shaky defence, but AW should be able to conjure a formation & game plan that should give Arsenal the 3 points available
Re: Birmingham (1) Vs Arsenal (1), Sat 27th March from 4PM Local Time by v3: 2:57pm On Mar 26, 2010
I feel AW might play Song/Campbell in defence (and keep Silvestre just incase Sol can't do 90mins), then play Denilson just in front of them to provide additional cover.

Diaby's dribbling just needs the final touch for him to become megastar material. I hope he can reach that level this season staring with B'ham.

B'ham aint like when the season started but playin at home could be tricky. With Sol/Mikel/song potential partnership, I see a score draw.

Go Gunners, don't lose the game

The line up. . .

Birmingham: Hart, Carr, Johnson, Dann, Ridgewell, Gardner, Ferguson, Bowyer, Fahey, Jerome, McFadden.
Subs: Taylor, Larsson, Phillips, Benitez, Michel, Parnaby, Vignal.

Arsenal: Almunia, Sagna, Campbell, Diaby, Clichy, Denilson, Song, Walcott, Fabregas, Rosicky, Bendtner.
Subs: Fabianski, Nasri, Eduardo, Vela, Arshavin, Eboue, Traore.

Arshavin and Eboue are both on the bench. Also good news Silvestre is not in the starting 11.Lets just pray Sol pulls through so we wouldn't have agent Silvestre against Messi et al.

Suffice to state that in our run-ins,this particular match with our journey to Ewood parks are the matches i think are most difficult.I pray we win.
Re: Birmingham (1) Vs Arsenal (1), Sat 27th March from 4PM Local Time by debosky(m): 3:44pm On Mar 27, 2010
Surprising formation. . . .while I was suspecting Arshavin to be benched, I envisaged Eboue starting instead of Walcott.

Lots of attacking potential on the bench though. . . .I dare say minus RVP, this is the strongest attacking bench we've had all season.
Re: Birmingham (1) Vs Arsenal (1), Sat 27th March from 4PM Local Time by kaypumpin2(m): 3:52pm On Mar 27, 2010
Worrying is the FACT that there is no CB on the bench, what if anything happens to any of our CB? undecided lipsrsealed
