As we draw ever closer to the January transfer window, the CIES Football Observatory have produced a fascinating table.


CIES pull up weekly states on the big 5 European leagues and often draw plenty of publicity thanks to their findings.


This week, CIES have the U21 big-5 league players with the highest estimated transfer values.


Kylian Mbappe: The most expensive Under-21 player on the planet

Kylian Mbappe is rated at just under 183 million euros.


Intriguingly, whilst Mbappe’s value has gone up considerably over the last three months.


Second placed Dele Alli has seen his valuation decrease due to Tottenham’s poor Premier League form.


When PSG take up their option on Kylian Mbappe next summer, they are due to pay Monaco 180 million euros.


6 Premier League stars in the top 10


There are six Premier League stars included in the top 10 of this CIES report.


Leroy Sane is considered a more valuable player than Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele.


Also featured in the top 10 is Marcus Rashford, Gabriel Jesus, Anthony Martial and Davinson Sanchez.

Wilfried Ndidi more valuable than Marco Asensio


The numbers may come under scrutiny with Leicester midfielder Wilfried Ndidi featured in 11th.

Ndidi is a fine player and is performing well for Leicester this season, yet it is questionable to think that the midfielder is more valuable than Real Madrid starlet Marco Asensio.


After some recent performances, Chelsea fans will also probably believe that Andreas Christensen should be higher than 16th.


Christensen is valued at 47.6 million euros and has seen his value increase immensely sine the start of the season.
