UEFA Champions League Round Of 16: Five English Clubs Breaks UCL Record by KIDKKY(m): 1:49am On Dec 07, 2017
For the first time in UCL history, there is five teams from the same country in a UEFA Champions League knockout phase.

The Premier League accounts for the round of 16 quintet, with Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur all through.

In fact, Liverpool, City, United and Spurs all progressed as group winners, only the second time that four compatriot clubs have topped their sections.

Season 2015/16 was the first time that five sides from the same nation had even contested the group stage: Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atlético advanced to the last 16 but Liga rivals Sevilla and Valencia failed to join them.

The last 16 teams
Manchester United, Basel, PSG, Bayern Munich, Roma, Chelsea, Barcelona, Juventus, Liverpool Sevilla, Manchester City, Shakhtar Donetsk, Besiktas, FC Porto, Tottenham and Real Madrid

The draw for the first round of the Champions League knock-out stage will take place on Monday, December 11 at UEFA's headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.

It is scheduled to take place at 11:00 GMT (6:00 a.m. ET) and fans will be able to follow it via live stream on UEFA's official website.
