Bros we are not arguing on this. Choice of school lso affects visa approval. There are exceptions of people that got their visa with this red flag schools doesn't mean we shouldn't take precaution and apply to Better schools
Does everyone that get i20 from a good school get approved? I believe you know the answer. Know why you want to travel, know what you are doing and ultimately, don't forget God. We aren't arguing bro. Only making points for those coming behind.

Most times you don’t have to be sooo rude with replies because it’s doesn’t solve anything neither does it give reply, any one that takes correction would go well in life and learn a lot. If you are corrected, I feel it’s because you are loved and cared for so don’t abuse it. Embrace it because no one would hold anyone if they leave you with your mistake.

Good morning everyone. Una well done o. I have learnt quite a lot from NL. I have two questions on my mind. Please indulge me.

A) I won an essay competition and the organizer and oil company is sending me to study Public Health in the US so that I can return to Nigeria after my studies to contribute to our ailing health system (I signed an agreement to return and work in Nigeria for ,at least, some years). I have asked for the company's statement of account, and I was told I would be given. What other documents (or possible questions) do I need from the company? I would be going with my essay sef.

B) Cos I anticipate I would be asked "Why is your dad (an American citizen) not sponsoring you?", I have also asked for an Affidavit of Support from my dad. Although he is doing fine, he doesn't have much in his account. Do I need to take his account statement to the embassy?

C) My i-20 says Source Funding is family but I am going with a company's statement of account, should I be worried?

There days, there are very few days available for a US visa reappointment, and I want to go there armed to the teeth. Please help me..... Thanks in anticipation.

Please me

Hello house, my interview was scheduled for July 30 but I got a mail it's been rescheduled for August 4th, which is a Saturday.

Does the embassy open or work on Saturdays? And who else got rescheduled?

Thanks

For you to get that email for reschedule that means there is public holiday on that day and US embassy wont open so they open 4th August as alternative

Wanted to reapply after denial on July 18th cos I saw August 4th available on cgi site, then I was asked if I have taken an interview in the last two months and then I saw no available dates. Can someone help me explain this?

If you lied about that answer, the next interview you will be denied and can put you into an issue because it was stated in that question.

My cousin was denied a visa this morning and he will like to reschedule for an emergency appointment since his school starts orientation for international students on the 6th while the main program starts on the 15th August. Can anyone please tell me how he can go about rescheduling an emergency appointment?.

Based on the new rule is he cant apply until after some minutes unless if he is lucky and he didn't come across that question

Hi everyone, i tried booking an interview now but I was told no available appointment dates after I selected Visa priority as previously refused.
Is anybody facing the same problem?

If you clicked that you have been refused visa before you won't see date until when they decided to show you date

Hello good people.... The queen of silent followers association over here whup whup

July 21st, 7:30 I was interviewed by the beautiful black American Lady (the young light-skinned one), she was just so calm and focused and it really helped me regain my confidence. Whenever she asked a question I didn't have an immediate answer, I would say excuse me.... The time it takes for her to reply, I was already thinking up an answer. I did breathe-in-breathe-out exercise at the beginning.

She was just staring at me and smiling, not typing much.... I couldn't afford to fidget or flinch at any question.

I: Good morning ma'am

VO: Good morning, and how do you do?
I: I am great, thank you and you?

VO: good, good. pass me just your i20 and passport please. So what's your course of study?
I: Masters of social work at east Tennessee State University in Johnson city Tennessee

VO: what do you do now?
I: I am currently employed at xyz specialist center, a special needs school that caters to children with developmental disorders like autism, ADHD and Down's syndrome. As a program facilitator, my main duties are (she cuts me off, she was cross-checking with my DS160 throughout)

VO: so who would be sponsoring this trip?
I: I got a merit scholarship that covers 50% of my tuition, my great-uncle and sister would cover the rest of my expenses. Then she goes through my i20

VO: Why didn't you apply to more affordable programs?
I: well most of the other schools expect their MSW students to pick a concentration at the second year but since I don't have a BSW nor basic SW knowledge, I wanted programs that offer a generalist practice model where I would be able to experience every aspect of the profession

VO: any standardized tests
I: yes, I sat for the GRE with a score of 314 and IELTS with an overall band score of 8

VO: who would you be staying with? Do you know anyone that has applied to or attending this school?
I: I will be staying on campus at the Buccaneers ridge apartment and already made a deposit. No I don't know anyone at the school

VO: how then did you know about the school
I: I made use of the worksheet available on the EducationUSA website and was able to solidly define my priorities. Then I researched for schools using socialworkdegreeguide.com, usnews, mastersportal and gradcafe and I was able to shortlist the programs fitting my requirements.

VO: What other schools did you apply to and how many admits?
I: southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, University of Maine at Orono, Michigan State University at East Lansing, Ohio State University at Columbus and Georgia State at Atlanta. I was admitted by four of them.

VO: can I have bank statements to backup your claims (handed over my sis first, savings with over #11m) what does your sister do?
I: she is a level 13 civil servant with the Lagos State govt

VO: (just looks at front page of the statement), has she ever left the country?
I: No, she hasn't

VO: looks at my Uncle's (>$100k), where does he reside and what does he do?
I: He stays at Maryland and is a real estates agent

VO: how did he get to the US?
I: (laughing) he's my great-uncle and it would have been rude for me to ask him that, it was a long time ago even before my mum was born. From the stories passed down, I hear he was given a federal scholarship when he was in secondary school and later citizenship, I don't really know specifics, you know how stories can change when passed from generations to generations.

VO: (laughing along with me) congratulations, I would be approving your visa..... Blah blah DHL.... Blah blah i20.... POE
I: thank you ma'am, I do hope you enjoy the rest of your day.
VO: I hope so too, thank you

This is my second interview, was denied June 27th.... Will dig that up and post later.

It would be remiss of me not to thank the wonderful people of this thread especially Texrem (wonderful man with a beautiful soul), Sorelee, Walsprings, lagosismyhome, profojah, meritdee and sponge3.

Congratulations! God bless amelika!

Good afternoon guys.
I actually went through some past threads of this Topic but I couldn't get my answer as most of the students applying abroad are graduates. Please kindly answer my questions

Are there schools that admit students into their undergraduate programs without SAT/TOEFL but just WAEC?
Also, Do I need to write TOEFL? Cos I wrote English in my WAEC and passed it.

Apply to ETSU if you can!

Update time.

I have gone to pick up our passports.

Wifee and I received emails and text messages informing us to go for collection. She's not around so I picked on her behalf. The requirement to pick for her was to drop a photocopy of my Id. The DHL office does not have a photocopier so I made the photocopy outside in a car that is parked on the street for one hundred naira for a copy.

On booking flight, British Airways was our first choice but we can only take one 23kg check-in baggage per head in their economy. We fashi am based on say we want carry three bags.

We now faced Turkish Airways, Etihad, Emirates and Qatar. Screened out TA because it is the most expensive.

While the Dubai and Doha airports top the Abu Dhabi airport in terms of class and prestige, the have more traffic. Also, fares for Emirates and Qatar are higher than that of Etihad across most if not all dates. So I'll be booking Etihad for price and traffic reasons.

I have looked at the pricing of fares and discovered that it is cheapest for dates that are far into the future like 3 months+, and cheaper around 3 to 9 days before departure.

I am looking at booking a one way ticket to JFK for the two of us for $1,653 for any day between 24th and 31st of July. That is the lowest it gets to on Etihad when the departure date draws near. That amount is less than 600k naira.

On housing, I have gotten an agent to hold a studio for me @ $1,179 per month, it is available from July 17th and can be held till July 31st. The initial unit we were considering @ $1,022 available August 6 was given to another tenant. There are other units @ $1,022 that will be available by September, I might switch to the cheaper unit later.

The greatest advantage of the apartment is its location; I'll only trek for 6 minutes to campus.

May God bring all our hopes to pass.

Bros please, on which website did you see these cheap flight costs? I can't even see anything close to those prices on etihad.com
