I need an advice from you, I drive a peugeot 407 2005 model, at the moment the mileage has clocked 245000, because I do travel a lot, the car is well serviced and well maintained,but can i still trust this car? or should I start thinking about buying another car. it has never given me a problem but i recently noticed the performance has really gone down i.e speed level .
Please advice.

245,000 (I presume kilometres) so 152,235 miles.

Not a lot by modern day standards, with proper maintenance, 300,000 miles and above are very possible.

One thing that can cause performance to drop in any car, is old / wrong grade spark plugs, a dirty air filter or a partially blocked / collapsed exhaust / catalytic converter (if it has one). Periodic OBD diagnostics is also a good idea, that way problems are caught before they snowball into major issues. This is one of the reasons I advice any car owner to invest in an OBD / OBD-II code reader.

One last point - you don't say what engine your car has? I don't mean the usual "4 plug engine". I need more specific details:

1) Petrol or diesel.
2) Engine capacity.
3) 8, 16 or 24V.
