On Tuesday, a policeman was assaulted in Ibadan, Oyo State, by a SARS official after a driver he was trying to extort, was freed. . . According to an eyewitness, the incident occurred around the Ibadan Airport. It was gathered that some SARS officials were chasing a car and they started harassing the driver after he stopped. . . The harassment continued until a policeman in jean and shirt came to his rescue. He asked the SARS officials what the driver’s offense was and why they’re taking him to the station. . . The questions angered one of the SARS officials, who ended up hitting the policeman with a gun, thus leading to a struggle between them. The officials were later dragged to the Area Command.
