Lost To The Hustle by JigsawKillah(m): 9:18pm On Dec 16, 2017
Daddy collects hundred naira from buses
Then he sends half to his bosses
From there he'll feed his three kids
His wife, parents, and a few siblings
Passengers would hurl curses at him
They don't even know him from Adam
'Agbero! Go fine work! You lazy fool!'
But truthfully, he is good with tools
A certificate holder and a mechanic
To survive, he'd learnt other techniques
But where is the cash to begin with?
Did you forget a man's got to eat?
He could steal but he's got a conscience
So he ended here, after no success
At night, he smokes and drinks
He's scared of his thoughts, he thinks
Tragedy struck, one morning
As he was rushing, to hustle something
A car lost its brakes and dad it brushed, oh
That's a father lost to the hustle

Mommy sold tomatoes at the market
At Effurun, where things are harshest
She makes very little from the business
Spending more than half paying tickets
Else these thugs would seize her goods
Or throw it away so she would lose
'I go pack your load, touch me you die
If you nor pay, no market, if you like cry
From here we go settle Oga, see craze
We con market con look your face?'
But still, she and daddy fed the home
And at night, she never felt alone
Then daddy died and her world fell
Instantly her brains stopped, farewell
Instant insanity wouldn't let her grieve
Daddy's family wouldn't let her breathe
"Winch! Winch! You kill awa broda!!!"
Business fell, she couldn't fund another
Chained to a bed of sorrows and troubles
That's a mother lost to the hustle

Sunday pushes barrow to make ends meet
For himself and two sisters in a hard street
Light fingered, got caught once, got beaten
And he had learnt to win from the defeat
A lucky chap with whot, poker and virtual
But very greedy fellas, are what we are
He still dodges into stores, to steal phones
He fancies himself rolling with the big bro's
One called him, said 'you dey dull guy
You dey tiff area tiff and you get mind die
Follow men dey, we go carry you go line
When we come back, you go over fine
We go dey ball for club after we take dem
You go get iPhone, golds, drink black label
And you go still buy lappie, form G-boy
Everybody go know you for the streets, boy'
So he got a local gun, and went to line
SARS met him, a shot blacked his mind
He was a seventeen years old boy, though
That's a brother lost to the hustle

Little Ufouma is fifteen and prostituting
Sunday hits her but wasn't always looking
When he died, sister got the eldest mantle
To feed her sister, she'd to win this battle
From airport junction to solidas, to pecon
Everyone knew her, even had a girls' squad
Then she met an Esan girl with links to Italy
And she disappeared to child's trafficking
Oh, dearie! Never to be heard from again
And little Blessing was 13, and in pain
No school, no parent, no relative
And she would get touched to feed
Sells pure water by day, abused by night
No one could be more unlucky in this life
She felt the right to do as she please, ah
One day, we found her floating in the river
Screwed communities, and wicked families
We blame others, we're our own enemies
And we misbehave and blame the bustle
But everyday, we're losing people to the hustle

Please let everyone in the chat room knows that I was attacked by armed robbers last year. I'm feeling better now, it is almost 6 months now.I may not participate in anything now, but promise to be active as soon as I'm back.

Hoping to be back soon.

Love you all.
