The renowned history Professor, Abdullahi Mahadi, CON was recently honored by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on “The Environmental Management and Protection in the Islamic World”. The ceremony which took place at the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) Headquarters, Rabat, Morocco.
Professor Abdullahi Mahadi, CON who was the former Vice Chancellor of the famous Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria from 1998-2004 and pioneer Vice Chancellor Gombe State University (GSU), Gombe from 2004-20014.
During his leadership both at ABU and GSU, the Universities were turned to be the best University in Nigeria in terms of Environmental Beautification and Discipline, the Universities were made to be reference point for all other Universities at that time from within and outside Nigeria to come and see for themselves how a University should look like.
He said “On several occasions Universities send their delegates to his him with the aim of copying the beautiful environment and lecture them on how he achieved it”. Even as at today ABU and GSU stand tall in terms of Environmental Beautification.
Professor Abdullahi Mahadi has a foundation tagged as “The Mahadi Foundation” with its motto “helping people to help others” and Philosophy "It is by given that we recieve". The foundation focus on “Education, Environmental Conservation and Disaster Relief”. I will talk about this other time
