Pork is life. U don't eat pork, you miss the real protein. |
Re: Nairaland Pig Farmers Host Free Pork Tasting Party by Reference(m): 5:55pm On Dec 17, 2017 |
Pork is way down my protein wish list simply because pigs by nature are resilient animals. They can harbour, survive and thrive in such septic and toxic environments that you need a lot of work to bring their meat to safe levels for consumption. In a nutshell pigs are built tough in and out so what will kill them will kill man several times over. Nigerians are not known for hygiene, nor are they known for details, standards and ethics. A lot of hidden problems will get through. So I rather stick with my poultry. Birds drop dead at a penny so consuming risky poultry is a lot less possible than pork. It has great aroma, very tasty but to me just too risky to consume regularly. Let there be strict regulations first. 2 Likes |

They are worms in pigs that cannot be killed by boiling or freezing. So why undergo the stress of consuming them. 1 Like |

Congratulations guys a great awareness and marketing event, we intend to do a similar event in Enugu soon. Listen people its so easy to criticize someones else effort, but don't forget it was positive effort, they professionally organised an event, offered free food , tried putting their case forward about some of the benefits of pork, if you don't like it no need to be mean spewing unnecessary insults. Do you know the number of employment opportunities created by those involved in pig farming, from farm labourers, butchers, corn farmers, transport operatives etc. It feeds and schools many families, for that alone give credit that they are creating employment. If you don't like it , that's fine, eat what you like, I don't see Europeans calling Nigerians savages for all the odd 'bush meat' we eat. Nigerians are quick to judge learn to have an open mind, read some actual facts, pork is widely eaten world wide. I respect those of certain religious faiths that don't eat pork, I won't force them or try judge, its their will and is to be respected. Hindus make up 16% of the world population and are forbidden to eat beef, does that make beef bad ? Live and let live people Anyways congrats guys, Anyways lets me use this opportunity to introduce you to jessam cattle ranch & farms aims to be a major player in the meat industry and help stop the importation of cheap, rotten, chemical induced meat from being dumped in Nigeria, often slowly ruining our health . Slow and steady jessam will grow to be a strong brand in food industry. We are based in Enugu. Please enjoy photos our farm. We rear livestock including Cattle, pigs, goats, poultry, ducks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZK0UqV1rQQg
