Since it's release in 2008, Smartphones running Android have shown great improvement. The improvement is so great that it's very difficult for android smartphones created from 2008-2011 to run applications created in 2017 due to the immense update on the hardware of Smartphones running Android.

A big part of Google success with Android is hinged on the fact that Android is an open source OS open to lots of customization.

At the Google I/0 17 Google also made announcements on some software upgrades on Android including the existence of the new Android 8.0 OS.

In order to actually appreciate the improvement on Android smartphones, it is imperative to review some of it's history and that's exactly what his article is about.

The HTC dream body was made of plastic. It had a size of 4.6 inch , 2.1 inch wide.
It had a screen size of 3.2 inches. It screen was a capacitive touch screen with a resolution of 320X480.

The HTC dream was a very thick and a comfortable phone to use then, it's build quality was really solid.

Instead of having the capacitive navbar keys most recent Android Smartphones feature now, it featured mechanical navbar keys.

Below its display was it's call button, home button, a trackball which aided in navigating on web pages, a return key, end call key and instead of a slide down toggle menu it had a mechanical menu key.
