A critical analysis of Nigeria's performance during the WC Qualifier towards S.A 2010 and ANC Angola 2010 has really exposed so called Super Eagles players as under performers, and definitely not qualified to be called World cup materials.
Coach Lars Lagerback and fellow forumites should please take note!

1. Joseph Yobo( He has not shown enough consistency and is also match rusty, as David Moyes have confined him to the bench.
     Also prone to injury)

2. Obinna Nwaneri(the most inconsistent player at Angola 2010. He does not deserve an invitation to the Eagles camp after
gifting Ghana their 1-0 victory over Nigeria. He is presently rehabilitating at Heartland of owerri)

3. Seyi Olofinjana (He has never proved himself to be a true Super Eagles player with his colorless display. Perhaps age is
catching up with him. He is also prone to injury and easily fades away during matches)

4. Chibuzor Okonkwo( This over-rated Bayelsa United player proved beyond every reasonable doubt that he was not yet ripe for the Super Eagles,
his lethagic display against Congo during the Eagles Team B friendly and against Niger during the 2nd leg encounter at Kano.

5.Yakubu Aiyegbeni( He has nothing to offer the national team, with his sluggish and near miss blunders)

6.Sani Kaita( Lots of folks assume that kaita is filling the quota slot, but he has consistently shown he does not deserve to be at the world cup with
his clumsy tackles and poor marksmanship)

7. Onyekachi Apam( Lets face the fact: Can Apam stop a rampaging Messi or a sleeky giorgio samaras. definitely No. so tell me: Why must lagerback
take him to the WC. A close check at hi french ligue club( Nice) shows he has picked enough red/ yellow card to send a danger signal to any good
    coach to beware.

The country is blessed with good players who can easily fit into the shoes of the above players.
In concluding ill love us to hear what Lars Lagerback said when he traveled to see some of our foreign based players:
"The Swede coach disclosed that he has taken about three weeks since his appointment to travel to Europe and other parts of the world where Nigerian players are plying their skills and have found out that most of the present super Eagles players are not fit to make the national team as they do not only have a starting shirt in their clubs but are not even reckoned with in the teams they claim to be playing for".

APAM: He may pick up a lot of cards, but is the most consistent defender Nigeria has. And one of the few consistently played for a good European club.

Pappi Kanu should be arrested if they catch him with anything that says South Africa 2010!!!
Re: Seven Players Who Should Not Be In Nigeria's Squad To S.A by bishoprccg(m): 3:58pm On Apr 06, 2010
As for papillo,
He is destined to go to SA 2010, because of recent, he has been playing regularly for his club, not 5 min, not 10 min, but 90 whole minutes.
Not many players his age can do that.
He has the spirit of Naija in his heart, and we should pls give him a chance to show the whole world for the very last time what he is made of.
put yourself in his shoes.
Will you be happy to be left out of SA 2010 if you are playing regularly for your team and happen to be the captain of the Super Eagles.
Definitely No.
So pls lets pray for him, that his heart and his legs will synchronize and he will score his first world cup goal at SA.

@poster,
do u have any plans for replacements on these seven names?
Re: Seven Players Who Should Not Be In Nigeria's Squad To S.A by bishoprccg(m): 5:02am On Apr 07, 2010
As for replacement for these 7 players, there abound countless number waiting to try their luck and grab the opportunity.
If Taye Taiwo had not faltered, there would be no Uwa Ejechile.
For the defence, there is dele adeleye, sam sodje, Michael Chukwuikwe Odibe, nedum onuoha
midfield: obiora nwankwo, rabiu ibrahim, haruna luqman
attack: eneramo michael(he is hot)
These are just few options, like i said there are countless number of players waiting to dorn the green white green jersey

Kanu is only playing because of the situation at Portsmouth, most of their loan players have returned to their clubs and they are down to their bare bones they have around 9 outfit players available, asking Kanu to 90 minutes week in week out is killing the old papillo, to ask him to go to SA without a rest at his age is suicidal

i do not agree with you on sani kaita. he is not filling any quota and is actually a better bet for DM position, he is also offensive in play and only needs to work on his marksmanship and shooting.

Apam also is prone to being too hard but is also a good bet for the defense.

Sani kaita and apam are more useful than the rest in the list

These two deserve to be in the world cup.
Sani remains one of the best DM, He never loses the ball and remains focused.
Apam one of our finest and consistent defender. I think He's the vice captain of his club, NICE.

@ poster,

In as much as I agree with you on the fisrt 4 names I 'll completely fault your inclusion of Yakubu, Kaita, and Apam to your list.

YAKUBU: Yes he didn't perform well at AFCON 2010 which was because he was just recovering from injury.People criticised Amodu for taking him to Angola'10 but his poor outing was a wake-up call for him. Did you notice lately his club form? He even scored a first class goal against West-Ham last wk-end. If you don't know he is the highest scoring African ever! in the history of the EPL. And for your info he is our best rated striker right now! We want to drop him?

KAITA: A graduate of the Siasia golden generation of youth players. At the SE level I'll chose him ahead of Etuhu,Olofinjana and Ajilore in the defensive mid-field. He did the dirty job for the SE in Angola though he got careless occasionally. He is showing levels of maturity and confidence with tournaments. He is equally a utility player as he also assists in the defence when the need arises.(another Garba Lawal in the making). We need him in SA 2010.

APAM:Another graduate of the Siasia golden generation of youth players. My second most impressive player at Afcon 2010. Yes he goes to a tournaments and gets suspended but he does the defending job well. He is likened to Bright Omokaro and Austin Eguavoen. In a team we usually have 1 or 2 such players. You remember that APAM SINGLE HANDEDLY MARKED OUT LIONELL MESSI AT BEIJING '08 FINAL?
Yes with him in SA 2010 we stand a risk of losing him to suspension I'll suggest Kingsley Udoh should be invited to deputise for him.

Lagarbeer sorry -back should invite the following players to fight for jessies:
Haruna Lukman
Kigsley Udoh
Rabiu Ibrahim
Obiora Nwankwo
(they are all matured for the SE)

Stephano Chukwuka Okaka ( plays for Fulham and scored the winner against Wigan)
Nedum Onuoha (played 90' for Man. city)
Sunday Moses (played 90' for Wigan)
Victor Anichebe (just recovering form in Everton)

He should also give the following players another oppotunity (THEY ALL PLAYED WHEN WE BEAT FRANCE 1-0!):
Dele Adeleye
Ebenezar Ajilore
Adefemi Olubayo
Joseph Akpala
Michael Eneramoh
Omatsonne Aluko

Hi Syenite
Your analysis is sound espercially the players u suggested 4 inclusion.
I pray only the best enter the plane to SA.
High time we stop injured, out of form and quota system players out of the SE.
