My attempts at baking bread (traditional style - no oven) have fallen short. Any pointers? undecided

This is what I do -

1. About a KG of wheat flour
2. 1 tablespoon yeast
3. 1/2 cup sugar
4. Warm Water(start with about a cup and add accoriding to need.
5. ( sometimes I add other things. I added 1 tbs coconut oil last time, other times I add salt to taste)

I mix the water and yeast, let it rest for afew minutes (about 20)
Mix dry ingredients together.
MiX them all,
Let it rest on a warm place and kneed it every 30 minutes about 4 times.
Bake

They come out as raw dough in the middle undecided no sponginess. Just afew bubbles.

I have recently begun baking fresh bread...and it looks like u have all of the right ingredients...and understand the need to let the yeast rise...and get a thorough kneading and rising a few times.
Have u used bread flour before?....
Cause that seems to work with whole wheat flour.
That seems interesting about bread baking without an oven. I was wondering about that.

Thanks.

I haven't heard of bread floor. I've been using normal baking flour with no added raising agent.

Its a challenge, but I put the baking pan inside a cooking pot ... Maybe its part of the problem. Its been getting really hard at the top

Oh ok...that actually may be the problem. Maybe it needs room to rise without any obstruction?
I hope it works out. I would love to know the results.
I would like to try that... baking the bread without an oven.
I really love the concept of that.
I don't want to be so heavily dependent on amenities....

I look forward to tasting your oven baked
fresh bread so that we can detect if YOU
really know how to bake/cook... or you're
just bluffing and blowing hot air! wink

Did you know that some bakers make cakes
without conventional ovens? This is very creative
of them as it helps to slash the cost of production!

Thanks for the new year wishes contained in the
third message you sent on the first day of January 2018.

Ouch! It's freezing cold where you are right now, so keep yourself warm against frostbites, and take care of yourself... OK?

Have a productive month at work
and while having fun. smiley

Signing off.

Well who do we have here? grin
You're still awake? The last time I posted the
message you were offline.

You owe me Ngo ... were you just teasing
me about "moi" age or what? You didn't deduce
all this while? grin

I look forward to tasting your meals someday
in 2018...and it will be sooner than you expect.

Hey, why don't you open your own foodie thread
on NL to showcase what you've got. It would be interesting to see some of your Southern U.S.A
cooking skills with some clear pictures attached
for the pleasure of all.

What do you say to that?

Yes....I'm still awake unfortunately.
Don't know why I can't seem to go to bed....just yet.
I'll have to make up for the lost sleep.
I replied your email and want to ask you something there if you don't mind?
Please check it.
Thanks
I don't want to derail her thread any further.
