Honda Recalls 2008 Accord Nhtsa! by Syenite(m): 3:58pm On Apr 06, 2010
2008 HONDA ACCORD -- Honda is recalling aftermarket full nose masks, part number 08P35-TA0-100 and 08P35-TA6-100 manufactured between August 9, 2007 through December 11, 2007. The accessory was designed specifically for model year 2008-2010 Honda Accord 4-door vehicles. It is possible for the nose mask material to interfere with part of the hood latch. If the hood has not been completely closed and the nose mask interferes with the secondary hood latch mechanism the hood may pop open while the vehicle being driven.

This may result in reduced driver visibility that could increase the risk of a crash.

Honda is asking owners to please remove the nose mask immediately and call any authorized Honda dealer to make an appointment to return the nose mask and have it replaced free of charge. The safety recall is expected to begin during January 2010. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-800-999-1009. For detailed information & supporting documents, see the official NHTSA page concerning recall #09E063000

No cause for alarm. Just an aftermarket product. Not the car itself. undecided

, but with the publication on this site : http://www.carcomplaints.com/top_vehicles.shtml do you think the Accord 2008 still stands a chance of not being totally recalled?

Of course. Recall decision is always based on actual recall figures per 1,000. Honda still have one of the lowest out there. There is no way you can do away with complaints. No matter the manufacturer. Since parts and components are made by different vendors.

There's always an acceptable recall number per thousand. Also, the 2008 is a new model year and design. Expect some "teething" problems.

The brake pads seem to be the major complaints. people says it wears out too quick. Not that its not effective. Solution?

Make new pads with stronger and thicker components. The current one may be too light for the brake force of the calipers.

Get ur ride on.

When your brake pad fades too quickly does that not lead to an unexpected brake failure? Will you still say at this point that the braking system is still effective?I don't need to tell you the consequence of brake failure whether at low or high speed.

i think you are mixing things up and getting worked up over whats not necessary. A brake failure is DIFFERENT from a premature break wear.

If the brake mechanism (calipers, rotors, pistons, servos etc) is bad and cause it malfunction, its a different story. However, if a pad that suppose to last like 30,000 miles ended up lasting for only 20,000, that is also different.

There are brake warning lights that will let you know that your brake is wearing thin and YOU as a driver suppose to get it checked/replaced BEFORE it totally fail! If you don't, then its on you.

The machanism is fine, just replaced the pads. Will you ask for a recall of the car if the tires wears too quick? Or if the tires burst during driving like Ford was having in Explorers few years back. The last time i check you can get in an accident if your tires burst.  undecided

You always separate the problem and know why it happened then you correct it.
