LOOKING FOR A GREEN HOUSE BUSINESS PARTNER

The green house measurement is 30 mt by 14 mt.

2. The land is one full plot of land 60 by 120.

3. Tomato and pepper

4. The soil test was carried out mid last year by a scientist in IITA IBADAN and the summary was *LAND FERTILITY +*

5. I planted once for the period of 5 month and it was an hybrid tomatoes seed from indian .

6. I planted a very good hybrid tomatoes arckarashak, one stand will yield about 9 kg of 100% flesh tomatoes and buyers only pick the big fleshy tomatoes and measure it on scale and pay for that and the remaining once there didnt germinate well were sold to the local market. You are guaranteed of getting at least 6 kg per stand and when you multyply 6kg by 1500 stand you get 9000 kg in all multiple by the selling price which is #400 per kg #400 × 9000 kg=?
You can plant anytime and harvest anytime.but i plantad April and harvest all arround August.

7. The cover is 3 micron net.

8. The net the thickest micron net -325 to 400 mesh ...its thickness can be described like if two powerful men draw at both end the net will never tear the men will rather get hurt and drop it....and the hole of the net is tiny like the the fabrics but transparent that you can see what is inside the net.

9. I once had challenges with the drips to decide to go for this ...because i saw it at a friends place working perfectly well.

10. I have market here i Nigeria and oversees....they come with there cooling van and weigh them and pick them where it is stored ....some buy at 200 naira per kg while some buys 300 or 400 naira per kg ..they select the big once and drop the small once and weigh and pay.

11. I need a partner who can get us more competitive market that we wont just sell to anybody offering any price that how i sold mine and i refund the money i borrowed and i could not continue because i couldn't get enough market for good price then. So my partner must take part in the business mentally and financially.

Nothing is “guaranteed” in business. Especially agriculture. The margins are on the slim side and so many things can go wrong and wipe you out completely.

Don't let one person comment deter you, since you have done the business before, draw out a business plan, an expected financial statement with reference to earnings for 3years and an agreement to be signed by the necessary participants.

Your right up here is just a plan not a well detailed business plan

Well said. I love how you put it. It only takes a good business man to understand your short comment. Nothing is "guaranteed" in business. 100% correct.

I do not think you discouraged him with your comment, but you have just cautioned him to look beyond very well.

And I know that Obasanjo farm has had its own share of series of losses too. Neither am I saying baba's business is not profitable, nor saying Agricultural business is bad; however, like my brother has said, nothing is "guaranteed" in business.

So, it is left for the owner to convince potential investors beyond reasonable doubt he can manage at least 90% of the identified risks. Thenafter, investors can take position. Instead of reacting negatively, it is better to buckle up, get your business plan intact, and be ready to make thorough analysis of your business.

If things go south, what is your plan? When crisis come, how well can you manage it? Do you have a back up plan?

For example, many vegetable farms suffer during this fuel scarcity. Cucumber farmers understand what I am saying. Did they all put fuel scarcity into consideration? Of course not, non of them thought of it when planning their farms. Well, some had to get fuel from black market; some started using manual irrigation, while many were helpless. Only cucumber farmers understand what I am saying here.

So, I agree with you sir. Absolutely nothing is "guaranteed" in business.

Akwa Ibom State Government has announced plans to inaugurate ten hectares of farmland for hybrid tomatoes by May this year to meet up with at least fifty percent demand for domestic markets.

Governor Udom Emmanuel announced this on Friday, while on inspection of the Green House Plantation on Ibom International Airport road.

The Governor stated that although the State Government was aiming at having One hundred percent for domestic markets, there are some that are purely for exports.

Governor Emmanuel described as a major revolution, the farming that was being carried out there, noting that the cucumber produced in the farm was the best in the world due to its content.

He said Government was taking steps to ensure that the items are exported.

The Governor who said that the State Government was running the administration based on its vision and blueprint, stressed that any Government that cannot feed its own citizens is not working, irrespective of the infrastructure it provides.

According to Governor Emmanuel, Akwa Ibom was taking a total approach towards the welfare of its people by thinking right from what the people eat, wear and to the building of individual capacity to the expected level.

The Governor who made a stopover at the State Airport Power Substation Project announced that the essence of the project was to stop the daily use of generating sets to power the airport and avoid wastage.

He said part of the over One hundred megawatts of electricity generated by the Ibom Power Plant is to be drawn to the substation at the airport.

Governor Emmanuel explained that the power project was to effectively boost power supply to the MRO, the terminal building, cargo operations and other airport facilities when they become fully operational.

Speaking further on the developments at the airport, the Commissioner for Housing and Special Duties, Mr Akan Okon, explained that the second runway which is 3.6km will, on completion, have the capacity to carry a 747 Cargo Aircraft.

The Commissioner stated that so far, 3.5 out of the 3.6km in the 60 metres wide runway has been completed.

He said Akwa Ibom Government has made significant progress on the Airport and expressed optimism that the Federal Government would work with the State with a view to completing the MRO facility which was originally designed to be a National Maintenance Aviation Centre.

The Group Managing Director of ALCON, the Contracting Company at the Airport, Engr. K. C. Akuma, explained the workings of the Power Distribution Centre in the Airport noting that the current consumption was 2 megawatts.

He said the MRO, International Terminal building phase 2 and others expected to come on stream subsequently will consume about 7.5 megawatts still leaving enough gap for whatever facility the State Government may intend to bring on board in the future.

The Secretary to the State Government, Dr Emmanuel Ekuwem, Commissioners and other top government functionaries joined the Governor during the Inspection tour.
