"The Mad Man And The Seven Demons" by Collins10(m): 10:37am On Jan 09, 2018
The mad man told me he has seven demons
in him. He had a stunningly wonderful diction.

I stared at him.

He sat on the bench and put his arms around
me. I froze. He was bare, with just a tattered pair of trousers on. He was smelling
horribly. I wanted to leave my seat and my
unfinished bottle of coke, but my butt was
seemingly glued to the seat.

The mad man grabbed my bottle of coke and
finished it in a gulp. Then he took the meat- pie from my right hand and pushed it into his
mouth.
Then he continued:
"These seven demons need to be fed by two
means. Either by food, or by anger. When I
don't get enough food to satisfy them, they push me into anger. I do lots of terrible
things and I can't stop until they are
satisfied." He laughed hysterically.

I looked at his face. His eyes had bags under
them. His thick bushy beards tangled with
dirt. I looked away from his face. The woman who tended the kiosk made an
attempt to ask him to leave, but a long dirty
glare at her made her retreat.

Mad man turned to me:
"Why aren't you saying anything to me,my
friend? Why don't you want to talk to me? You think I am not worth your time? You
think I am mad? You choke yourself with this
thing you call tie every morning, even
against your own wish, and you think I am
mad?"

I glanced at my wristwatch in desperation. I didn't want to believe his
demonic tales. He is a mad man afterall. That
is how they behave. Time was going.

He continued:
"Don't be in a hurry, my friend. I need more
food. The last demon in me is the fiercest and it needs to be satisfied. If it doesn't, a lot of
things go wrong. I attack people. I harm
myself until the demons are all satisfied."

Just then, my Boss' call entered. I wrenched
the mad man's hand off my shoulders, threw
the money for the drink at the kiosk owner and hurried away without waiting for the
change.
My shirt was already in a mess.
A week later, I saw his corpse lying on one
side of the road.

The story was that he ran into the front of an oncoming vehicle and was crushed.

I took one long look at him and wondered if
his story about demons and anger was true.
