How to cut kaftan gown
Mark The Width Of The Woman On The Material Or Cloth :
Keep the tape horizontally and mark all the width of the measurement on the cloth, which are :

8 - 2 = DESIRED LENGHT OF THE SHOULDER
Here you mark the lenght of the shoulder to shoulder, divided by 2.

4 - 5 = THE WIDTH OF THE BUST.
The width of the woman bust divided by 4 and add extra 2 inches for sewing allowance. (for example if the bust is 40 inches, then 40 ➗ 4 = 10, 10 ➕ 2 = 12.
Then the width of the bust is = 12 inches.
Then you mark it.




6 - 7 = THE WIDTH OF THE HALF LENGHT.
The half lenght is also divided by 4 and extra 2 inches is added for sewing allowance.

The shape in that diagram is the best for caftan gowns. Its called A-shape gown.

Then draw all the marked width together, like the purple line up n that diagram. THEN YOU CUT.

Sewing Of Caftan Gown :

Kaftan's gown is the easiest gown to sew. I will be telling you where and where to sew.




First step:
JOINING THE SHOULDERS.
Join the shoulder of both back and the front to make it one.

Second step :
JOINING THE TWO SIDES OF THE CLOTH.
Sew from the armhole down to the full lenght of the both sides.


Third step:
Use a trimming lace / bias to sew in the neck and armhole.

Fourth step :
At the full lenght of the cloth; sew it the extra 2 inches you added.

And voila, YOUR CAFTAN IS READY.

EXTRA ADDITION :
you can add belt or elastic at the waist area.
