Police Officers attached to Abacha road Divisional Police Headquarters along Abacha road,Port Harcourt,Rivers State,Nigeria have arrested three fake Council Officials impersonating as officials of Obi/Akpor Local Government Area last Thursday,Revelation Agents online news have learnt.
Revelation Agents online News gathered that the suspects have gone to a shopping mull at GRA phase three in Port Harcourt demanding for money .Our source said luck ran out on them when the Management of the Business centre put a call across to the Council secretariat which denied knowledge of sending anybody to demand revenue.
We learnt that Policemen attached to Abacha road Police Division were called in to arrest the 3 fake Council officials, who we gathered, are still in detention as at the time of this report.
When contacted by Revelation Agents online news,Mr.Prompzy Amadi the Press Secretary to the sacked Chairperson of the Council, Mrs Goodnews Amadi confirmed the arrest of the suspects.
The Rivers State Police Spokesperson,Omoni Nnamdi did not respond to text messages sent to his mobile line by Revelation Agents Online news.
Meanwhile Governor Nyesom Wike have announced the sack of three Care Taker Chairmen.A statement released by Simeon Nwakadu,Special Adviser to the Governor on electronic Media said the affected Chairmen are those of Ikwerre Local Government Area,Port Harcourt Local Government Area and Obi/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.The statement reads that the Chairmen were sacked over alleged collection of illegal fees from Companies and it takes immediate effect.
Reacting to the incident,Promzy Amadi,Press Secretary to the sacked Council Chairperson,Goodnews Amadi,said they gave a company a chart and the company misunderstood the Council by thinking they are to pay all the levies in the chart.
Promzy Amadi also revealed that the Council under Goodnews Amadi faced security challenges of fraudstars impersonating council officials to defraud unsuspecting members of the public doing business in the Council area.
