With 6 oil wells, DAILY POST has exclusively obtained photographs of pupils sitting on bare floor while taking lessons in a Delta Primary School.

The photographs taken by DAILY POST on Wednesday, January 17, exposed the terrible situation of pupils of Otoro Primary School in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State who sit on bare floor while learning. The host community, Orhoakpor community is believed to be hosting six oil wells.

DAILY POST observes that the infrastructures in the school are extremely poor as the roofs of the building are almost blown off, exposing the students to unimaginable danger.

Because of lack of benches in the classrooms, students have found learning on the floor as comfortable as learning with the desks.

There are also no doors, Staff-rooms and offices for head teachers.

In a chat with DAILY POST, a source who craved anonymity appealed to the Delta State Governor, Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa to come to the rescue of the school with the provision of basic infrastructures and adequate security for the school as the little equipment they have are also carted away by criminals.

Our correspondent reports that the photographs expose the lapses of the Delta State in the area of education.

Regardless of the poor presence of the Delta State Government in the community, the presence of the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company, NPDC, operating the six oil wells in the community is not felt by the people, as there are no access roads to the school even as there is no portable water supply. Similarly, the only health centre lacks the necessary medical facilities.

Check well and you'd find out the six oil wells are owned by Fulanis.
While Ijaws and Itsekiri are fighting each other, the Fulanis took control of half the resources in the Niger Delta. We are our worst enemy.

The CSR of all these oil companies in Nigeria is SHiiittttt. from Total to Chevron to Shell to Mobil to Agip to the Independents and Marginals. They all rather prefer giving monies to their chiefs, who in turn embezzle them and do nothing for their people. What will cost these companies, they can sacrifice 1000 bbls of oil a day to impact the host communities they find themselves with basic amenities as schools and hospitals.

if you like quote me and say their leaders, I will smack your disgusting face. These oil companies have robbed the Niger Delta blind. Hausa/Fulanis wouldn't have accepted this from them if oil is in their territory
