Why Won't Gov. Oshiomole Learn To Speak Like A Statesman.? by HenryUbus12345(m): 10:10pm On Jan 20, 2018
The attack on the Delta State Governor by former Edo State Gov, Adams Oshiomole at the APC Mega Rally which held at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City Edo State only goes to show that the former governor learnt nothing as "His Excellency".

It would be recalled that Gov. Oshiomole had in the past taken to talk dirty with former Delta State Governor, Gov. Emmanuel Uduaghan. He deserves no response from our amiable Governor, Sen. (Dr) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa because he has refused to pick his words honorably and carefully. It is of no importance reeling out Gov. Okowa's achievements in 2years and there is no basis for comparison. However, Gov. Oshiomole should learn, as a matter of courtesy, to talk with caution.

This is the same man, in 2013, while he was Edo Governor ordered that a widow's petty goods should be confiscated because she traded her wares by the road side. The widow went on her knees pleading that her only source of livelihood should not be destroyed but Gov. Oshiomole was quoted to have told her "GO AND DIE." Though he later apologized but his loose tongue had wagged.

His tenure witnessed the bulldozing of a very large expanse of land in Ovia North East LGA of Edo State apparently for the purpose of setting up an Agricultural Produce City. This white-elephant project was launched with fanfare and was projected to create 20,000 jobs, very good initiative, but currently the land is not only desolate but has been overgrown by weeds, No Agricultural Produce City, No 20,000 jobs. The people of Ovia North East LGA feel shortchanged up till date.

The Edo Specialist Hospital is another white-elephant project where well over 10.2billion Naira was appropriated for the Accident and Emergency unit of the hospital in 3 years during his tenure but nothing to write home about.

In fact, Mr President commissioned an empty Hall when he came for the commissioning.

Some months back at the Colloquium organized by Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) at Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Abuja, Gov. Oshiomole again allowed his mouth to run loose when he posited that those clamoring and agitating for Restructuring are those who lost out in 2015 Elections. But before he could finish his speech the entire hall went noisy with many calling on him to "drop the microphone and get out". It took the intervention of Justice Alpha Belgore, the NLC President and some others 10 minutes to restore calm at the event. Recall that Gov. Oshiomole is also a former NLC President.

The issue of receiving decampees is not alien in Politics neither is it a monopoly of APC. It happens across board other political parties and it is a matter of choice and interest.

The building of a Modular Refinery and the biggest Industrial Park in Nigeria to be sited in Ikpoba Okha is highly laudable coupled with the job projection. This projects, if they eventually see the light of day, will most certainly address the issue of unemployment to an extent. However, as is usual with APC propaganda, we hope it won't end up as one of those white-elephant projects.

Finally, Gov. Adams Oshiomole should learn to speak with caution as a former Governor of a State and not as a Labour Activist.
