Facts about Tuberculosis in Nigeria:
According to the National Tuberculosis and Leprosy
Control Programme, Nigeria ranked the 4th country
with highest cases of tuberculosis globally even
though a larger percentage of TB cases in Nigeria
are unrecorded.

What is Tuberculosis?
Tuberculosis is an air borne infectious disease that
can be contacted by inhaling the bacterium
Mycobacterium tuberculosis that causes the disease.
Tuberculosis mostly affects the lungs but can
transfer to other parts of the body.


TB Prevalence
According to Natural Remedy Lab’s facts about

100,000 cases of tuberculosis recorded in Nigeria
annually. Most deaths from tuberculosis is as a
