I run a mini poultry farm(200 layers)... I'm a first timer... I woke up this morning and found one of the Sick bird I left to move around Dead. The head was eaten up and the Stomach open and empty. I don't know if its Snakes or Rats..... ready scary stuff.

NB: I've lost about 5 birds same way

This is the work of that type of rat with a long mouth. The most often eat the brain of your birds, if they have adequate time they will move to the intestine and subsequently return ro the remaining head.

It depends on the strain you are going for , Ros , Cobb etc. For me I have been going for Ros308, I will try Cobb 500 next batch.

There is no best breed of broiler. It all depends on the purpose of raising them. For those that are raising for frozen chicken I will suggest Cobb or Abor Acre plus. If you want to raise and sell for festive season I suggest Ros 308.

The least broiler for now is #430.

You can only sell at 4weeks to people that want raise them further. The price would be determined by the amount you spent to raise them to that age.
