According to people I spoke with when I arrived Ogbmosho town on Friday, a large bird was reportedly shot down by youths in the town on Thursday. I was able to get pictures from an eye witness for this post. Looking at the bird, it looks prehistoric like Archaeopteryx (terror bird) seen in jurraisic park 1 Like

That looks like a flamingo or pelican. There is nothing mysterious about it. At least, it does not look like the vulture Igbos gave late Nnamdidiot Cownu while they referred to it as eagle. 1 Like

Corrinthians:Stop saying things that you dont understand. That is the palm nut vulture (Gyphohierax Angolensis), a sacred bird in Igbo religion. The Igbo name of the bird is Ugo. Hence names like Ugochukwu, Ugonna, Ugochinyere etc. And proverbs like "Mmiri mara ugo sara ugo ahu" cc lzaa amarabae omeokachie 1 Share
