An official of the Joint Action Committee consisting of SSANU, NAAT and NASU Comrade Wole Odewunmi has said the Union has demanded over 65billion Naira from the Federal Government before the ongoing National strike can be called off.

Comrade Wole who is the Coordinator of Non Academic Staffs in OAU said this during a Radio program in Osun State recently. He said "Our demand from the Federal Government includes 65billion Naira which is our demand to end the ongoing strike action".

The Non-academic Staffs went on strike over a Disagreement on 23billion Naira Academic Earned Allowance shared between Academic and Non-academic Staffs in Nigerian Varsities. It was reported that the Fund was shared in a ratio of 89%-11% between Academic and Non-academic Staffs respectively.

The Federal Government had earlier met with the striking workers on December 19,2017 with the Minister of State for Education Anthony Nwuka representing the Federal Government.
