A lot of times, couples complained about seeing sperm coming out of the vaginal after sexual intercourse which is actually a big problem especially when it comes to having to give birth while having infertility issues.

Sperm leakage/involuntary emission of sperm in women is called Eda in Yoruba language. Eda literally means “to pour” in English language. This condition is not recognized in medical world, in fact, it is regarded as normal.

When your partner ejaculates in you, the semen is a combination of sperm (only about 2-5% of the total volume) and other liquids from your partner’s reproductive system which help energize and keep the sperm safe from the sometimes harsh vaginal environment.

After ejaculation, the original thickness of the semen will transform from a gel like consistency to a more liquid form within about 20 minutes. This liquefaction helps the sperm cells to swim more freely through the cervical mucus and towards the egg.

The leakage of the semen after sex occurs in everyone and is not a sign that the sperm are “falling out”. By the time you notice the back flow of semen, the sperm, contained in the semen, have had plenty of time to travel through the cervical opening and are on their way to your egg.

So, Pregnancy Is Still Possible?
You can still certainly become pregnant, even if it feels like ‘everything’ is coming out afterwards. The strongest and fastest sperm will have stayed behind and be well on their way to fertilize your egg by the time you stand up or go to the bathroom after having sex. While it is worrisome, you only need one very strong and quick sperm to fertilize your egg. For a man with normal sperm count, each ejaculation has at least 20 million sperm in it! This means that even if most of the sperm does leak out of you, there will still be a large number of sperm still swimming around inside you. Trying to get pregnant causes a lot of stress and concern. You should remove sperm leakage from your list of worries. It really isn’t something to worry about.

Steps to Take To Increase Your Chances of Getting Pregnant
You still might be worried. If you are, there are steps that you can take that will help as much sperm as possible stay in your body. Such tips include:

• Avoid using Artificial Lubricant

To help reduce this, if you are using any artificial lubricant, now would be the time for you to stop it as this actually slows down sperm. Your vaginal canal ought to be clean of any of these lubricant. When next you have to have your sexual intercourse with your man. Be more relax, don’t be tensed. Enjoy it and also ensure that you pee before you start anything.

• Not having enough pre-intimacy

Prior to having sex, there is need to have enough pre-intimacy as this is what actually helps you to actually reach orgasm when the intercourse finally happens.

Sex to women is more emotional than physical, so pre-intimacy actually helps to build that up so that you can easily be well lubricated and lead to a more powerful orgasm for the woman, As a result of the powerful orgasm that comes to play, it also helps the man in the production of higher sperm count which also leads to the higher chances of getting pregnant. If you know your man is a one minute man or has not been able to satisfy you in bed.

• Placing a pillow under her hips

After intercourse, place a couple of pillows under your hips to elevate them. This technique utilizes gravity to help those little swimmers swim faster to reach the cervix and move into the uterus and fallopian tubes rather than leaking out. This also helps as it also provides a deeper penetration and allow the penis to reach far inside you.
By simply following this, you would have gotten rid of sperm leakages by up to 90% if done right. If the egg is ready and waiting, then fertilization is definitely a possibility.

• Immediately standing up after ejaculating

During sexual intercourse, you have to time your thrust and also ensure that you are still deep inside her when you eventually release inside your woman. Immediately after sex, never stand up, ensure that your man still stays inside until his penis gets flaccid, then he can rise up. Lying in bed for 10 to 15 minutes after intercourse can help provide ample time for the sperm to reach the cervix.

• Not getting into the right sexual position

Having sex in the missionary or rear-entry position may be more beneficial to couples trying to conceive.
Getting into the right sexual position that helps to prevent sperm leakage goes a long way to helping the sperm to remain in the vagina for a longer time.

The best position is still the missionary position as that allows for deeper penetration and also helps to the sperm to stay longer
This is why this is the recommended available position especially for couples looking to get pregnant.
Another position that is also good for deeper penetration and also helping the sperm to stay longer is when you are in the doggy position.
Any other position that you might be engaged in might actually not get as much result as these two popular and simple position listed above. These positions ensure that the sperm is deposited close to the cervix.

Just remember, only one good sperm is needed, so it is perfectly OK if some leak out after having sex. If you know that you are in your fertile phase and are ovulating, or at least close to ovulating, then do try to have intercourse as much as possible. AND before you know it, you are already pregnant!
