Nigeria is a country blessed with abundant natural resources. These resources are available in almost all the states in Nigeria. ALMOST. Here are seven poorest states in Nigeria that is experiencing high level poverty
7) Ebonyi state- This state is the only south eastern state in Nigeria. It has poverty rate of 70.6 percent due to poverty, illiteracy and bad government
6) Plateau State- although it is one of the most beautiful states in Nigeria, plateau state has had its share of conflict which has carelessly destroyed its economy
5) Jigawa state- the state is situated at the north western part of Nigeria and is populated with Hausa/Fulani. With low literacy level and low economic growth, with poverty level at 72.1 percent
4)Gombe state- Gombe state is facing its own security challenges and economic instability with a 73.2 percent porverty level
3)Adamawa state-This state has had its fair share of terrorism and low population due to citizens running away from the state with a poverty level of 74.2 percent
2)Kastina State- located at the deepest part of north western area of Nigeria, Kastina state has no solid investments or sector that can create revenue for the state
1)Sokoto state- the seat of the Caliphate, being the hottest state in Nigeria, has made it on this list today. Its harsh climate conditions have prevented foreign investors and investments. It has a porverty level of 81.2 percent.

So there you have it folks, this is our list of poorest states in NNigeria. Hopefully, the present or next administration will improve these states and make them better.

Sh!tholeans are indeed very funny, you just wake up in your room and the next thing that comes to your mind is to manufacture statistics from thin air, and boom, you post it on nairaland as authoritative Are you kidding me, or is this tales by moonlight? All the states in the North are dirt poor. If NW or NE should stand as a country, they would be the world's poorest, worse than Niger, Chad etc.
