spoke to Jochebed last before her wedding when we ran into each other at RSUST. She talked about so many things ranging from family to how she planned on setting up a foundation for troubled teens this because we grew up in same AG teens dept . blown away when I got a call from our mutual friend yesterday. Tears still dey my eyes. I tried calling her number but it wasnt going thro. I still cant believe this news. No one should die this way. sad reality

I will never travel to attend anybody's funeral or wedding unless by flight. if I can't afford it I will not go. and I will not invite anyone to travel to my wedding either unless I am paying their flight tickets.

My country naija...and her "reactive" people....
Just last year precisely november, a woman and her daughter died in a road accident when they travelled to Onitsha to purchase wedding stuffs...

most Nigerians typed "RIP","It will never happen to my family","God will not allow any accident to happen to my family"...and the list of declarations and prophetic renderings kept going on...but just after,2 weeks,these same grieving people forgot about what happened and moved on with their lives...waiting until another one happens before we start reacting.....Again! What a pity!

Accidents don't just happen...they are caused by recklessness and neglect of simple basic rules....

What will it take for passengers to ask drivers not to overspeed knowing fully well that their lives depend on it?

Why would the living keep silent in the mist of these recurring problems hoping that prayers alone will fix the problems?

Will prayers alone build good roads for us or make reckless drivers to become sane and responsible?

With all due respect,the couple who died like the Benue killings did so not because they didn't pray hard enough for protection but they failed to accompany their prayers with a corresponding ACTION!

Prayers give U the belief to act and not the licence to become lazy hoping that God will do for U what he has completely equipped U to do for your self!!

I don't want to sound like a dooms day crier but I assure U,if we continue on this reactive path and keep hoping things will change,then expect more deaths in the coming weeks or months simply because we failed to be proactive!

U can't keep doing some thing over and over again and expect a different result!
