• Check the fence's insulators regularly for signs of damage or perishing. Damaged insulators can lead to a short circuit.
• Clean posts and insulators using standard household detergent, this will deter bugs and help maintain your fence. (Obviously make certain you have switched off your electric fence first.)
• Check your electric fence regularly for damaged, broken or corroded electric fence wires.
• If the fencing starts from the ground up, spray weed killer under the fence line or cut weeds and grass regularly to avoid interference.
