The team really needs an injection of foreign players for our next round qualifying games.

Guinea Bissau are parading 9 Portuguese based players, Ghana also have a couple of foreign based in their team. Why can't Nigeria get our own foreign based players?

The season is still on for our own players.

And how did the Ghanaians get their own foreign players?

Mind you Guinea Bissau secured the services of their 9 foreign players right from the first leg.

Since when did the Portuguese league go on break?

Those players are either not playing or are youth players. There is an article with Samuel Chukwueze explaining that he thought he could come because he was only playing U19 at the time but he got promoted to the B team and that stopped him.

Well, the Final round of qualifiers have been fixed for 13th and 20th July. That is end of season and before pre-season games. So we expect the full complement of players.

Congratulations we made it. Now we face Mauritania who eliminated Morocco and Guinea. But I think the coach's hands are full with Enyimba in the league and Confederations cup coupled with the Flying Eagles assignment. Will he be able to build this team and achive great success? Cant someone else do the job? Also, I think we need more foriegn pros in the team. The European league is almost over.

13th July, 2018: Mauritania Vs Nigeria.

20th July, 2018: Nigeria Vs Mauritania

Mauritania's previous results:

Mauritania 2: 0 Morocco;
Morocco 1: 0 Mauritania.
Mauritania 1:0 Guinea
Guinea 3:2 Mauritania

It appears Mauritania are very solid at home but poor away. It means we need to give our all in that first leg and get the needed result their first and then finish the job in Calabar.

Note that Morocco and Guinea are strong forces in youth football. And for Mauritania to eliminate them it means they have a strong side.
We need to up our game.

Pillars Alhassan Ibrahim Increases Number Of Manu Garba’s U17s Called Up To Super Eagles

The recent invitation of Kano Pillars and Nigeria U20 midfielder Alhassan Ibrahim to the B team of the senior national team of Nigeria for the game against Atletico Madrid has swelled the number of U17 players coached by Manu Garba.

Garba who is presently the head coach of the Nigeria U17 team has in the past groomed ten players who have all made it to the senior national team of Nigeria particularly from his all conquering U17 team of 2013.

Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi, Alhassan ‘Mu’azam ‘ Ibrahim, Dele Alampasu, Isaac Success, Chidiebere Nwakali, Ifeanyi Matthew, Ifeanyi Ifeanyi, Kingsley Sokari and Francis Uzoho all played under the soft spoken coach during their formative years with the youth team of Nigeria.

Ibrahim is however the first player from his squad of 2016 that failed to qualify for the U17 African Youth Championship to be called up to the senior team of Nigeria owing to his strong display for Kano Pillars this season.

He has grown into one of the influential players of the Kano based side, and effectively has made the team not to rely too much on club legend Rabiu Ali who has been the main playmaker of the team the past 11 years.

Presently a member of the Nigeria U20 team, Ibrahim one of the two players from the team of 2016 in the team of coach Paul Aigbogun, the other being Nazifi Yahaya who recently returned from trials in Denmark with Brondby.

Flying Eagles get a month’s break ahead U20 AFCON playoff against Mauritania

Flying Eagles training in Abuja

Nigeria U20s, the Flying Eagles, have broken training camp and will resume after a month, officials have informed SCORENigeria
This followed the team’s passage to the final qualifying playoff for the 2019 U20 AFCON in Niger at the weekend.

The Flying Eagles eliminated Guinea Bissau 3-2 on aggregate and will in July battle surprise team Mauritania for a place at Niger 2019.
“The team will go on break for about a month and reassemble at a venue yet to be decided,” a top team official informed SCORENigeria

SCORENigeria also gathered that Lobi Stars central defender Ekene Olisema lost his father just days leading up to the crucial qualifier against Guinea Bissau in Calabar on Sunday.

“We kept away the news from the player till after the game,” an official revealed.

There are so many eligible young players, home and abroad. It irritates me to see many old men in this team. This Paul Aigbobun side is taking us back to the dark days.

Not true. Even Samuel Chukwueze was interviewed and he did mention communicating with the coach Aigbogun on his unavailability due to his involvement with Villarreal B in the ongoing promotion playoffs. CSN or OGN carried the news. This means the foreign based players are in his plans.
Remember he also invited Nnamdi Oforbuh, for the Egypt friendlies, who later emerged Bournemouth youth player of the season.

West Brom Ojebode Gets Flying Eagles Invitation After Turning Down England

Fast rising West Bromwich Albion defender Yussuf Ojebode has been rewarded with a call up to the Nigeria U20 team after turning down the chance to represent England.

Ojebode’s uncle Sam Ojebode captained Nigeria at the 1976 African cup of Nations and the right winger who is also comfortable as a full back wants to emulate his uncle by progressing to the Super Eagles in the future.

17 year old Ojebode met with the vice president of the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) Seyi Akinwunmi in London shortly before the Eagles friendly game against England, and Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal that he has been handed a chance to train with the Flying Eagles.
Already talks are underway for him to team up with the team at their camp in Abuja but there are concerns that it could coincide with when West Brom who were relegated from the Premier League begin pre season training.

Expected to play a part in their pre season games. Ojebode is widely regarded as the one of the best emerging talents in the youth set up of the team. Already he has trained with the first team even though he is in his first real season with the club U18s.
