Two tribes of Highlanders, Lisu and Hmong have legend of a great flood. In the Hmong legend, ''Lord of the sky'' warns two brothers that flood will soon engulf the earth, he asked the older brother who was violet to build an iron boat and the younger brother who was gentle to construct wooden one. He told the younger one to take his sister, as well as a male and female of each animal species and two seeds from every type of plant aboard the wooden vessel.
True to prophesy, the flood came, the iron boat sink, but the wooden boat float. A rainbow shaped dragon then dries the earth. Finally the younger brother marries his sister, and their descendants populated the earth. This is similar to the account documented in the bible in Genesis
