It’s  Robyn Rihanna Fenty’s 30th birthday on Tuesday 20th February 2018. A day that should be celebrated with nothing short of religious fervor (honestly, why are schools and offices even open ?!).

Rih instead of wishing herself a happy birthday the usual way people do took a turn instead and gave a shout out to the woman who made her birthday possible in the first place: her mother, Monica.

The 30-year-old on Instagram shared an adorable childhood photo of herself, alongside a pic of her taken last year as part of a Fenty Beauty campaign and captioned it:



“10958 days ago @monica_fenty became a mother for the first time to her only daughter! Today is just as much your birthday as it is mine!”

She continued, “I love you mom! Thank you for carrying me, birthing me, raising me, supporting me, teaching me, and loving me unconditionally! The woman I am today is because of everything that you are! I thank God for perfectly hand picking you to be my mother when He sent my spirit to you! You are the greatest! Thank you! #” She ended.

And her mum Monica in turn wrote: “Happy 30th. God’s blessings to my 1st born. The sweetest , most humble person I know , and most loving daughter ever. Lots of love back to you on your special day.”

So sweet!

Meanwhile birthday shout out came in for Riri from different angles as several celebs — like Brunor Mars, Dj Khaled, Bryson Tiller, Ciara etc sent in sweet messages.

The tributes didn’t end there, Rih’s ex Chris Brown also raised eyebrows as he sent a birthday tribute to the music queen.

The 28-year-old singer shared a photo of  Rihanna during her childhood days and captioned it ‘ Happy Birthday @badgalriri’ .


The post which has over 800,000 likes at this moment had angry Rih fans chime in to make angry comments referencing the night Rihanna was sent to the hospital after being brutally assaulted by her then beau Chris in February 2009.
