Chimamanda Adichie Employs Nigerian Culture For Her Novels’ Cover by August1st: 4:09pm On Feb 21, 2018
Chimamanda Adichie’s books are now being reissued in iconic Ankara (wax-print) designs.
The award-winning author’s Nigerian publisher Narrative Landscape Press is issuing a collector’s edition of her body of work, from Purple Hibiscus continuing through Half of a Yellow Sun and Americanah, and her non-fiction books, We Should All Be Feminists and Dear Ijeawele.

The announcement of the new editions was made on February 16, 2018, and reveals that the new cover art was done in collaboration with the wax-print fabric giant VLISCO.

If you are a big fan you would recall that the author’s books underwent an Ankara-print make-over August of 2017. The cover design, at the time, was done by high-profile graphic artist Jo Walker.

The present collection is different in the sense that it features Ankara print designs that hold a special place in Nigeria’s textile culture. These designs aim to inspire feelings of home, nostalgia, and elegance.
