The Kaduna State Government has introduced a new initiative known as value kits to support rural farmers boost their agricultural yields and enhance growth, Commissioner for Rural and Community Development, Hassan Mahmood has said.
Mahmood who spoke in Kaduna, the state capital said the value kits contained improved maize and soya beans seeds, herbicides, insecticides as well as fertilisers. “That is the reason why we distributed the kits to three rural communities in order to enhance yield of quality farm produce. We plan to scale up the programme to the entire state,” he said.
He urged beneficiaries to adhere to the rules guiding the programme to ensure its success.
