His Excellency Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi OKOWA
The Executive Governor of Delta State
Government house Asaba
22nd February 2018
Dear sir

REJOINDER : "OGBE-IJOH CUT OFF FROM ACCESS ROAD AND ELECTRICITY BY ALADJA: BY CHIEF KEME MONDAY .

We refer to the above captioned story by one Chief Keme Monday in the vanguard newspaper of on Tuesday 20th February 2018 on page 29 and here state as follows:

Aladja community is not responsible for electricity connection or road blockage. This can be attested to by the various security patrol vans driving through Aladja to OKOTOMU (Which you called Ogbe-Ijoh). Aladja community in udu local government area while Ogbe-Ijoh is in Warri southwest local government area. OKOTOMU is in udu local government area of Delta State.
The so called Ogbe-Ijoh is not in Aladja in udu local government area. Ogbe-Ijoh is in Warri G. R. A. Close to Miller Water side / Nigerian Port Authority up to Ogbe-Ijoh market road as contained in our previous evidences. Its a fraudulent claim by the Ijaws to call OKOTOMU an Ijaws fishing camp / settlement in Aladja, Ogbe-Ijoh with intention to use Aladja land as propose headquarter of " Ijaw Republic" and also for crude oil bunkering.

Their claim is base on speculation and illegalities. Its their fraudulent effort for their selfish territorial expansionists move, that is why they call OKONTOMU , which is in Aladja land in udu local government area, Ogbe-Ijoh. There is no government in Nigeria that recognize Ogbe-Ijaw in Aladja as headquarter of Warri southwest instead, Warri G. R. A in Abuja.

Aladja people are farmers and our land is our only means of survival because that's were we farm cassava, maize, plantain, yam, etc. From time immemorial, the Ijaws are traditionally fishermen ,they should return to the rivers which they are known for.

Government should not contemplate taking over our land or sharing our land with OKONTOMU who are settlers on our land since 1896 when they were evacuated from from Warri by the colonial masters through lease B1 and lease B2 . the call by Okontomu to have or pressure the Delta state government to share the disputed land 50/50 is illegal null and void and totally unacceptable to the Aladja people of udu.L. G. A.

Government can only acquire land from the rightful owners for overall public interest and must pay commensurate compensation to the owners of such land just like the case of Delta Steal Company (D. S. C) in Aladja.

The Delta state government should not compensate the Ijaws in Warri due to their frequent threat to blow up oil pipelines . They tried it in Edo state but fail. Government most not allow such as it will encourage everlasting threat to peace . We therefore call on the delta state government to first and foremost determine the original owners of the disputed land before any meaningful progress can be made
.
We wish to humbly appeal to the delta state government to play a neutral role and with the overwhelming evidences supplied by Aladja people which clearly indicate or show that they aladjans are the original owners of the land. And therefore, we humbly state that's we have no land to share with the Okontomu people.

We also wish to use this medium to call on the delta state
government not fall to the empty threat of the Ijaw people which they are also known for as a trouble makers all over the Niger Delta region. That the state government should stick to the truth which can only bring everlasting peace between both warring communities (Aladja and Okotomu)
.
We humbly appeal to you to do justice to the matter.
Thanks.
