Uk knows that apart from crude oil ,she relatively imports very little from Nigeria ,on the other hand Nigeria imports a lot from UK,which means the trade isn't balanced ,by listing the naira ,the UK is just making export easier for her companies ,we must realise that the UK needs to quickly restrategise all her trading before brexit,by listing the naira they have further made exporting to Nigeria easier for UK companies 2 Likes |

Proudlyngwa: After 40 or so useless comments on top it seems you are the only one who bothered to analyse this. Anyway, personally I disagree with the writeup too. The main thing to note is it creates another major market for getting pounds and has been shown with the current successes CBN is having with controlling our currency- multi markets are not bad things in a country like ours where there is too much fake demand. Yes, the default theory in Economics is if you export more to a country your currency will get stronger.. but with the global economy dominated by the dollar and a deficit ridden America, I am not sure this is simply true anymore. Fake and speculative demand is the king of the global economy now (eg. crypto currencies, the stock market etc), and if this can be curtailed in any market, true values would be found. LASTLY- haterz and PDP lovers, please learn to analyse so we can have meaningful arguments that can hopefully push this country forward. 1 Like |

It does not take rocket science to know that the balance of trade favours the UK over Nigeria |
