Rice is one of our staple foods.
Most families eat rice at least 3-4 x a week. Some must have it daily.
Rice is delicious especially with well fried stew garnished with all manner of meats and eggs, easy to prepare, straightforward.
I stand with rice

N.B- It is also high carbohydrate rich food, makes you gain weight. However, its all about portions. Instead of eating rice and chicken, eat chicken and rice. The difference? Chicken and rice means chiken is your main meal while rice is just a side dish (and small quantity), unlike rice and chicken where rice is the main dish (and large quantity) and chicken a side dish

I think it's because rice is a celebratory food, and every Sunday is like a celebration for Christians

Well, Rice is one meal everyone grew up to enjoy and love especially when made into the almighty Jollof... grin grin Who doesn't like Jollof? But I think its time to really be aware of the kind of Rice we buy.. To think some people would take time to make plastic rice is really alarming and it is really really dangerous. Thank God there's a way out to identify and test before even cooking which is clearly highlighted in this article. https://www.farmcrowdy.com/eating-fake-rice/

I think is because of poverty but that has changed. Many families now eat rice every day. Some don't even cook it on Sunday they prefer other meals

For cooking rice and stew, it's simply because stew will be cooked on Saturday so immediately the church service closes, you rush home to cook the rice

And then viola, food is ready
