Cost estimates for 1 hectare farm :

Locations:

1. Lukosi, off lukosi market, papalato - shagamu road, Ogun State.

2. Ishoku village, via MOKOLOKI, on papalanto - shagamu road. Ogun state.

Crop: Castor bean seeds.

Setup Cost: N350k covering Land lease, land preparation, seeds, planting and agrochemicals.

2. Maintenance and harvest labour: 20% of sales after each harvest. To offset labour cost for weed and pest control, nutrient application and harvesting.


R. O. I. per hectare:

2 tons x N300k per ton = N600k per harvest every 6 months.

Market: Buyers will be invited to the farm to lift it while we prepare for extraction of oil in no distant future in order to add value to our produce.

Land preparation starts in April while actual planting will be done from 1st week of May

Harvest periods:

1st harvest: Oct-Nov. 2018.
2nd harvest: Apr-May. 2019.
3rd harvest: Oct-Nov. 2019.
4th harvest: Apr-May. 2020.
5th harvest: Oct-Nov. 2020.

1. Set up is done once while harvest is for years even beyond 3yrs.
2. You are also free to do your farm management to avoid paying 20% for labourers who will constantly carryout weeding, pest control, nutrient application and harvesting.
3. Buyers are already on standby and the current buying rate per ton is slightly higher than 300k.
4. Yield per hectare will move up above 2 tons as the plants grow bigger.
