*BEHIND THE CAMERA*

Different poses for different shots. Zoom in and zoom out, touches and filters, smiles and laughter - all for the camera. Appearance is a notorious deceptive that conceals the personality and reveals the persona. We, have all, at one time, fallen victim of the deception, or are the deception. It's the world we live in, world of make-up where beauty is enhanced and the real person is hidden. We, most times, call it packaging - bad content in beautiful container. That’s just the way it is.

The society is the camera we are all faced with. We do everything to put up false appearances, to cover our weaknesses, to shield our deficiencies, to deny our sufferings, to hide our tears and to paint a bright colour of our moody selves. We are always scared to showcase the true expression of our inner selves to the society, and would rather feign it for the camera. We die inside and live outside, smile outwardly and suffer inwardly, preach holiness and act otherwise , hungry and pretend to be overfed. We lack but boast of surplus. It's commonly seen in the social media. It's all a pose for the camera.

After the lights are turned off and the camera shutter closes. Away from paparazzi, flash and lighting. When the wig is removed and the bald head is exposed. When the push up brassiere is pulled down and 'Olympus experiences a free fall'. When you are alone in that designer cloth and reality dawns on you like the end of a horror movie. Then, you will know no one genuinely cares about the fake life. In the words of Oscar Wilde, he says _"The best art is about individualism, free self-expression and realising a unique, imaginative perspective. A true artist takes no notice whatever of the public. The public are to him non-existent"_ . False appearance has deprived so many of better opportunities, last longing connections and true livelihood. *If you hide who you are, you never become who you pretend to be.*

Strive to become who you admire through hard work. Be consistent and intentional about it. Be prayerful and believe you can. Let your gradual rise to your dream palace be noticed. Don’t try to be swift and cunny about it. Assuming the wrong image can never make you right. Start being you and stop the unnecessary pose for the camera. With God on our side, we shall get there.
