Cristiano Ronaldo is set to be rewarded with a lucrative new Real Madrid deal after his blistering start to the calendar year.

The Real superstar’s current deal still has until 2021 to run, but was set to be cut short after reports emerged he could leave Madrid this summer after a slow start to the season, with a potential return to Manchester United on the cards.

However, since the turn of the year, the 33-year-old has recovered his lethal form to prove his doubters wrong in typical Ronaldo fashion, scoring 17 goals in 12 matches.
